Conflicting Temperatures (HWMonitor / AIDA64) on 8320e

Thread Starter
Hi all

I just purchased my 8320e (was tired of seeing my 8320 temps get to 55c on a hyper 212... plus I couldn't OC the thing past 4.0 without getting errors on P95...gave the cpu to my dad lol) This thing is running ridiculously cool... cooler then what I would have ever imagined...(it's my first cpu that wasn't a 125w in about 5-6 years) I was playing GTA V and my core temps were about 28c (pic is included) I look at the socket temp and HWMo had it had 93... I was like "Oh AZsxdcvfg" I, then, looked at AIDA and it only got up to 48. Who should I trust more? I looked in my case and the cooler isn't hanging off... lol Also this biostar ta970 is probably my worst purchase I have made on Newegg.... I would like a quality Mobo that will OC this thing like a champ... maybe 4.2-4.5... my budget is about 100-110.. I'd like it to be under 100 but I don't think that'll happen..

Thanks biggrin.gif

Get HWINFO64 and see what it says. HWMonitor is not the best for AMD.

CPU (SBI-TSI) temperature = TMPIN2 in HwMonitor, CPU temperature in AIDA

Ok here's HWinfo after playing GTA again for about 25-30 mins... my power is only 66w, is that a problem? and my 12v is only at 4v (I've read that programs can be misleading and go by what your bios says which it says 11.8v)

@The Stilt, so 93c vs 48c which one should I pay attention to... I felt my cooler and it felt warm but not 93c. frown.gif

Also, I just noticed in AIDA64 (first pic) my mobo temp was 99c..... lol are any of these correct?

Hmm, nevermind.
None of your voltages make any sense so most likely neither do the temperatures.
Use only a single monitoring program at the time.

I would also see if Biostar provides any monitoring program and use that if they do.
