What I'm afraid of is that Zen will be not much even match my current 4790k... so you are doing what I did... you are buying steps hoping for greater performance from AMD when the performance you crave is already available, just through Intel. thumb.gif

I'm, a huge AMD fan, and I ran ONLY AMD from 2004- September of 2014.. but I was just unfortunately wasting money the past few years with AMD.

Anothing thing many are overlooking is that the AM3+ platform is just falt out old.. I mean it doesn't even have pci-e 3.0.. (not like that's a huge bottleneck on 99.9% of cards but still)

I owned the fastest AMD offering ever made as well as an 8350 and 8120. Your position unfortunately is seemingly one of emotional attachment and your benchmark thread is nothing but frustratingly inconsistent. Sorry, not being harsh but it's just the way it is.

OK, In my opinion that listening to anyone talk about any processor , that doesn't actually own that processor is like listening a virgin talk about sex. Is that better ?

I don't believe the OP is considering the purchase of a Thuban, if he were , then yes that would be relevant.

I have X6 zosma's that will run upward of 4.6 ghz, they don't provide as satisfying experience as the 8 core Vishera's do.

Its like when the A64 and x2 were dominating the P4 and PD

Intel fans will drone on about whatever they feel intel is strong in. I've owned every manner of both cpu and AMD holds their own fine vs intel.

My cpus:

A64 3200+
x2 3600+
E6400
Q6600
E2180 x2
i5 3570k
i7 3770k
fx 6300
fx 8320
fx 8350
fx 8310
i5 4670k

I think its fair to say I have bought equal both sides, if not more intel, and the AMD are great chips despite what the people who want to quote intel paid sites say. I have tested them first hand.

I , on the other hand have spent several thousand hours with the Vishera and hundreds of hours using the Intel chips that I was comparing them to.
To anyone that may be reading these forums, I invite them to decide for themselves who has the superior position from which to compare the differences.

That was in no way insinuating anything more than I have no problem with owning AMD. I utilize and have enjoyed my AMD mobile GPU on a daily basis.

All that post was about was to state that I didnt have a bias against AMD cpu.

Excuse me for not having thousands of hours of "smoother experience just because"

EDIT: Since we cant seem to not have a conversation without an elitest point of view, I will excuse myself from this thread before I give a reason for infraction/warning.

The problem is role reversal. You are now the pentium 4 defender, because that is exactly what ironically these latest AMD FX's are in comparison. It's the unfortunate truth here.

Let's be real here. These chips have not changed since 2012. The games are out there, the benchmarks are out there and after many years of gaming on them I would think it's pretty obvious for someone who supposedly has so much experience with them that they would see it. Play chilvary, play sc2, play WoW, play Skyrim, play older games like Morrowind, play 99% of mmorpgs, play even games like Crysis 3, or Sim City... I mean, I can go on and on. The difference is there.

I wouldn't have went from a 9590 to a 4790k otherwise.
