Let's be real here. These chips have not changed since 2012. The games are out there, the benchmarks are out there and after many years of gaming on them I would think it's pretty obvious for someone who supposedly has so much experience with them that they would see it. Play chilvary, play sc2, play WoW, play Skyrim, play older games like Morrowind, play 99% of mmorpgs, play even games like Crysis 3, or Sim City... I mean, I can go on and on. The difference is there.

I wouldn't have went from a 9590 to a 4790k otherwise.

I am not foolishly paying a premium for the intel logo and believe my chip is all powerful. The fx8 are bargain kings and perform as well or better than the i5 everyone acts like are so dominating

When conroe was the budget cpu to get I bought them (e2180) and when a 8 core fx8 for $80 that is as fast or faster than $175+ i5 I buy them. Intel fans just pay whatever to say they have intel, even if its 2-10x as much as a similarily performing amd.

I have run the benches, I have both camps sitting here and honestly the i7 is the fastest followed by the fx8 with the i5 lagging behind

You bought a g3258 that will not even open newer games and yet you bash AMD

LOL typical intel fanboism

There is no premium.

You are clearly the one being a fanboy here..

You are also the only person I've ever seen say that AMD is better at any price under $900

Because I own both.

I have sitting here i7 3770k, i5 4670k, fx8350, fx8310

The prices I paid ?

3770k $250 (used new was $330)
4670k $175 (used new was $230)
fx 8350 $135 new
fx 8310 $80 new

Sorry even if the i5 was a small amount faster its not worth $40-$80 more for a used processor.

It'd be a lot faster if you actually tested games that had any sort of CPU bound scenarios. It's also not $40-$80 more. AND it's NEW. You are trying to believe things that are not even true. Why?

Why bother arguing with AMD fanbois? They will never believe it.

Having 8 cores for gaming is nearly meaningless, 4 is much better and much more commonly used.
One Intel core is easily worth 2 AMD cores, maybe even more, which is pretty much what matters in gaming right now.

A64 3200+
x2 3600+

E2180 x2
i5 3570k
i7 3770k

fx 8310
i5 4670k

I think its fair to say I have bought equal both sides, if not more intel, and the AMD are great chips despite what the people who want to quote intel paid sites say. I have tested them first hand.

The problem is role reversal. You are now the pentium 4 defender, because that is exactly what ironically these latest AMD FX's are in comparison. It's the unfortunate truth here.

I'd really like to see examples with proof from your own experience where you can see a difference in a gaming benchmark at 1080 or 1200p, that's all I am asking for.
The numbers I have posted comparing the Vishera and 4790k are devoid of any emotional attachment, they are what they are. How you choose to interpret them may not be.

Yeah god forbid we have the hardware and compare them ourselves in exact same scenarios lol

Intel fanboys come to AMD to dissuade builds because they spent way too much on their hardware.

I'm waiting for mdocod to come in here and tell us to buy i7s and 260x and play 800x480 on low settings rolleyes.gif

Except you don't.

One of you tested different GPU's and different clocks

And you keep trying to say the FX is cheaper because you saved $30 on a one time event sale, then preceded to test games where CPU made little to no difference and come to the conclusion that the FX is a better value.

Hell you will save that "better value" in power savings alone by going with the Intel system.

lol power savings. Its been proven by many people that at best you save $10/year on a intel

And a $80 8310 ($100 8320 regularly) is $75+ cheaper than a locked i5 so why do intel fans get so pissed I put a cheaper cpu with a better gpu and compared 2 systems which will cost similar.

You scream bloody murder because I took the money saved and put a 280x (a very respectable card and better than the 2gb 680 that now has not enough vram) vs a 290 and still the AMD system was cheaper. BUT since it didn't make intel look awesome the trolls came out in droves.
$175 for locked i5 and $230 for i5 k version

$100 for fx 8320 (every year for a month near black friday)

Yeah bro there is a calculator app on your pc

So $130 more for a i5 k version so why do you get so upset I put a $50 gpu with the AMD cpu
