Its never a waste of money if you are happily able to make use of what you purchased. 5820k build is a great choice if you feel you can use it!

"Easy choice"? Over the course of this thread you have flip flopped at least ten times if not more. If the last post was pro Intel you say you are going Intel, then if there is a flurry of pro AMD you say your getting an 8320.

Well if you are doing 3D modeling I don't think it's a waste.

It would last you a lot longer than a year and you would still have Broadwell-E as an upgrade option with the same socket. I just don't see the sense in buying something only to upgrade again in a year.

My 2600K is vary well tuned. Not even the best tuned Vishera would touch it.
Betcha can't touch this

Or this

The point is , that if the Vishera can out do the 2600k in these benchmarks, isn't it possible that it could also outclass it as far as giving a better every day experience?

As for gaming, where would the 2600k at 4.8 ghz compare to the 4790K? I'm going to guess around 4.4 ghz, which is where I had it running in this comparison - http://www.overclock.net/t/1534128/vishera-vs-devils-canyon-a-casual-comparison-by-an-average-user

With completely different GPU's.

Literally one of the worst comparisons I have ever seen on OCN.

My 5GHz 2500K is faster than my 4690K at 4.5GHz, so I'd say his 2600K would be more equivalent to 4.5GHz 4790K.

So you see no value in the comparison of the 4790k vs the Vishera when both are paired with identical ram and the same 290X lightning?

They are not paired with the same 290X. You paired the FX with a 780 Ti and the 4790K with a 290X.

I looked through all of your gaming benchmarks and they are either A) unlabeled or B) compared with different GPU's.

I didn't even look at any of the synthetics as I don't care.
