[PCP] NVIDIA Under Attack Again for GameWorks in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Page 14

Can't blame Nvidia for trying to get a competitive advantage. I can and I certainly do blame devs who fail to optimize their games to work with both sides. If a game dev wants to take some alms from GPU makers in the form of a sponsorship deal and ignore optimizing for the other side, it's their business. I'd say it's bad business, but it's their business. Vote with your wallet and let them know why. thumb.gif

A new, much better closed API. A hair API that doesn't give the hair it's affecting some new strain of "hair parkinsons". In any case, closed means nothing. There's been no evidence to suggest Nvidia intentionally gimps, or tells developers to gimp their games on AMD machines. The reality is, Nvidia optimizes for their cards, and only their cards.

News at 10! Nvidia collaborates with a game dev, sweetens the deal and optimises for their own producs neglecting the competition. Trully they should funnel some of thier R&D money into AMD for the obvious fairness clause that such companies have biggrin.gif.

Ah the glory of pc. Literally a matter of swapping a card. Amd/nvidia optimized? Np, give me a minute. Or do what everyone suggested and just turn off hairFX or whatever.

When devs start taking sides, customers suffer. I don't want developers to dictate my next GPU purchase. Make games that run good and fairly on all hardware. I didn't buy PCars and most of Ubisofts recent titles because it runs like crap on AMD hardware and if the witcher is the same then they too can be added to that list.

I'm not gonna spend $70 on a game not optimized for my system to the best ability of the developers. Don't reward incompetence.

Now for all of the neysayers:

Many of you have asked us if AMD Radeon GPUs would be able to run NVIDIA’s HairWorks technology – the answer is yes! However, unsatisfactory performance may be experienced as the code of this feature cannot be optimized for AMD products. Radeon users are encouraged to disable NVIDIA HairWorks if the performance is below expectations.

Hope this information helps.

Straight from the horses mouth. What do you say now? You still insist to get more evidence gw is cancer to pc gaming?

Reposting it for some people. Please read it before you say AMD is bad and cant make drivers or stuff.

you are joking right?
so where is the driver for w:3;)

not that I would ever play this game(or 99% of the crap they put out today)but why is it so wrong what nv did I cant understand.....or maybe amd's excuse they can't get much right lately?

now instead of crying like a baby what if they made the game run better on there hardware then nv's wow that would be cool thumb.gif or they are just too busy with all the new cards and cpu's they have been putting out lol
