i watched all of that yesterday and it caused me to wonder if they really know what they are talking about:

states that kepler can also adjust tessellation.

oh? really? where? and given the fact it was an AMD user found the work around in the CCC panel i have doubts AMD know how to work with their own cards let alone the competitions.

states nvidia didn't have a problem with tressFX in tomb raider.

a complete lie. LMAO! (Click to show)

states developers cannot see the GW code (more blackbox malarkey).

oh? then why is it the developer has to sign an agreement that they won't share the code?

sorry but IMHO, it's just more AMD propaganda. let both AMD and nvidia sit down and have a discussion moderated by an impartial third party; now that may shine some light on FACTS. thumb.gif

See it was true all along.

PC is going to become like console, games for amd and games for nvidia

Agreed. AMD and Nvidia are fracturing the community.

While that may be true, if they worked together it would be the worst of all since they have a monopoly and can do whatever they would please.

1) I didn't hear him say that.
2) No a user did not find out a work around, that feature has been there since 2011, its just the majority of users dont think to use it.
3) That's correct, nvidia had no issue optimising for tress FX once they got the source code.

They also twist things around to get people worked out about how nvidia are unfair to gamers etc.

Nvidia never try to spin things around beside bring out out products and pushing them to developers.

They have very different tactics but I think AMD's is much more vocal and has a bit more impact on things in the short run.

Ye man they made people wait indeed, that is why the 970 was the fastest and best selling gpu to date. GREAT PR!

Kind of funny how the 970 turned out though tongue.gif

This just compounds the annoyance at the lack of customization options in many PC games. Why not a Hairworks quality setting Off-Low-Med-High-Ultra or some such.

since there are several "edits" of the same discussion (didn't see that at first)

8:04 in the vid and he also states it was the community that found out. you're really better off watching from the 7:00 mark thumb.gif

How to run Hairworks on AMD cards without crippling performance

So thanks to a wonderful user over at Guru3D, it's been discovered that hairworks can in fact run relatively smoothly on AMD cards. I'm talking 60fps smooth guys, and the trade-off is barely noticeable.
3) NO nvidia did not get the source code for tressFX but worked with crystal dynamics to patch it in game. and still is a convenient omission that there was any problem at all. wink.gif

since you don't seem to check sources:

Unfortunately, NVIDIA didn’t receive final game code until this past weekend which substantially decreased stability, image quality and performance over a build we were previously provided. We are working closely with Crystal Dynamics to address and resolve all game issues as quickly as possible.

Please be advised that these issues cannot be completely resolved by an NVIDIA driver. The developer will need to make code changes on their end to fix the issues on GeForce GPUs as well. As a result, we recommend you do not play Tomb Raider until all of the above issues have been resolved.

4)since you don't seem to check sources:

1)The edit only cuts out the starting soon at the beginning.
And no he did not say that NV users can do the same too, he said that Kelper users suffer as well, not that Kelper users can do the same as well.

2) Yes the community found out how to use a feature that's what he said, that has been right under there nose for years which has nothing to do with AMD not knowing about it, they know about it as they put it there and advertised the feature at the time of conception, many users were using the feature with Crysis2 including me.

3)Crystal Dynamics had the source code so it was easy to fix and the point is it was easy to fix because the source was available without restrictions to the developer or other GPU vendors, that is the point, it does not matter who of the 2 had it, the source was used to fix the issue period.

And no i already seen your links and the point is all that counts and not arguing over semantics.
