What is EPP? (DDR2 RAM)

Thread Starter
Well, today i got 2 2GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer Red modules, I saw on the sticker that they run @ 800Mhz 4-4-4-12 2.0V but mine are running at 801Mhz (that 1mhz is because my CPU OC @ 400 FSB) @ 5-5-5-18 and 1.8Volts.
CPU-Z says that the SPDs have like the XMP profiles but called EPP and that the make the modules run at 1000Mhz @ 5-5-5-15 2.0Volts
What is this EPP thingy? How can I activate that EPP? Or do i have to set them manually to 1000Mhz in the BIOS?

It was Nvidia's equivalent of the Intel XMP for Nvidia chipset motherboards. If you don't have a motherboard with a Nvidia chipset you won't be able to use it (it doubt it would be seen as XMP on a Intel mobo).

Nvidia was the first to introduce performance profiles for DRAM modules. Intel did not have them for DDR2 SDRAM. XMP started with DDR3 memory only.
