4 cores - 4 threads nVidia nForce 730i

Hey!!

I decided to see how much stress Handbrake was putting on my system. When I started Handbrake, I was returning to a rebooted PC w/o a converted video. I had a tiny 500Mhz OC on the CPU. I figured that was the issue; so, I set bios to default(AUTO) and rebooted. That's when I discovered I didn't have hyperthreading ohno-smiley.gif

I have tried many settings in bios w/ voltage adjustments to no avail. When I "Disabled" Multicore Processing in the bios it changed from 4 cores to 2 cores confused.gif

The Twist!
I'm currently running a Xeon X5470 using this method: LGA 771 to 775
Now I did this 2 years ago, I never looked back. I use the PC as a Media Server. I don't know if Hyperthreading ever worked? Normally, I would check this out upon initialization; but, I just don't remember.

-Thanks in advance for any help you could share.

Your X5470 does not have Hyperthreading. So, obviusly, Hyperthreading has never "worked" on your PC
