Jokes aside Fiji is nice and all, but they need to refresh their whole product stack to have all 1.3 GCN cards.
If the 300 series includes rebrands, it's a safe bet that it will be CFX compatible, like how the 7970 and 280x are cross-CFX compatible.

As far as GCN 1.3 goes, there is no info on what the next version of GCN will bring to the table, be it 1.3 or 2.0 or even 1.337. What is known is that 1.2 introduced PLP eyefinity and more than a 25% reduction in power consumption while at the same time adding compression and 0.7B transistors.

I am truly looking forward to Fiji.

Edit: multiple typos

Isn't the rebranding exactly what happened with the previous series where Hawaii and Tonga were the new cards and everything else were rehashed? Prior to then, wasn't it the same story when the 7970 and 7950 came out? Pitcairn was new at one point. This really should not come as a surprise to anybody. Yesterday's 290x will be the next 380x which will go on to become a 480 or 470x. Pretty standard stuff.

Typical AMD double talk, laced with a little lie here and big lie there.

AMD we Re-brand our rebrand s because people still buy into it.

Just think you get to buy video cards that is 3 years old still call it new. Its the New OLD.

We all are.
We all are also tired of this constant bait and switch from AMD. Seeing this is rumors and unconfirmed would be enough for me not to believe it but with the rebrands of the other cards I'm not left with much except the date everyones waiting on.

Yes and no. My 290x does 1050/1500 with no effort... does 1100/1500 just as easy. 8gb is the benefit here, something I wish was available when the 290x launched but oh well. They will have to price it really aggressively
