That's just Cisco's term for it:

And it is dead simple to setup router as 192.168.0.1 machine and then from first PC (192.168.0.2) to the last one (192.168.0.8) give the IP adresses.

Also that means that DHCP service aren't need to be running biggrin.gif

Any decent DHCP server allows for predefined leases, which would allow port forwarding:

Some DHCP servers also use the MAC address for "randomization" which allows some predictability in IP's.

Makes sense, I'm a Cisco guy wink.gif. When I think trunking I think simply configuring a port for multiple VLAN access. Link aggregation never even enters into it unless I'm configuring a port-channel as a trunk.

I thought the Cisco specific term was Etherchannel wink.gif

EtherChannel is a port link aggregation technology or port-channel architecture used primarily on Cisco switches.

If you do 'switchport mode trunk' on an interface you'll start tagging VLANs.

That is correct Link Aggregation is an IEEE term, EtherChannel and Port-Aggregation Protocol are Cisco, PAgP is the proprietary protocol used between Cisco devices.
