Gta 5 and the Titan X - Page 2

What is your clock speeds. At 1500 core/8GHz memory I can do 70-80FPS in the city and 35-45 FPS in the very grassy country side hills. In the regular country side (near Trevor's house, etc) I do in the mid 50s-low 60s. That is with ultra with 0x AA and normal post-FX (I dislike blur). If I turn off all advanced graphics I gain even more at 4K. Your numbers seem very low to me.

i would like to add i just realized i didn't have my overclock enabled. I enabled that 227mhz to the core. Disabled hi res shadows threw 2xmsaa and 2xmsaa reflection with grass at very high everything else maxed and my fps went up a good 10-15%. I really didn't want to sacrifice hi res shadows tho. Kind seems like that might actually impact my visuals a bit more than aa.
I honestly don't even notice it unless I got my eyes stuck to my monitor. I mainly game on my 1080p TV but also on my 1440p monitor.

I just tested it and used the same settings as you except I have 8xMSAA on reflections and it has no impact on my performance. I maintain around 50-55 fps most of the time but in rural areas I can drop to as low as 35-40fps. I'm gonna try to remove 8XMSAA on reflections and see if it makes a difference.

Yeah that sounds about right. I was getting similar fps @1080p with 4xmsaa everything else max with grass on very high on a single gtx 980 (1329mhz) which is a good comparison to a titan x @ 1440p considering its between 30-40% better in performance. I recently got another 980 and my fps is moving between around (80 min-110 max) as apposed to 40-70fps with a single gtx 980. Sli runs really smooth in Gta V no stutter/tearing.

They probably improved it. my 970 in SLI were running the game worse than a single one. Also, I tried lowering Reflections from 8XMSAA to none at all and my fps improved by around 3-5. With a single stock 970 at 1440p I have 50-55fps in the city and in rural areas it's around 45 but sometimes dips to the mid 30's.

well i actually can hold 60 most of the time in the city its just in rural areas like you said i drop a bit. My core clock is 1458mhz memory is 7.2ghz. I pretty much see those large dips where you see em. I guess i never really disabled vsync but i may be getting close to what you get in the city. let me check. Yea i disable post fx like you did and my fps skyrocketed. I don't really care for blurring either so that did it for me. I mean wow i am running ultra grass 2xmsaa standard and reflection. And in the harsher areas i am hold 50s and locked @ 72fps (my current refresh rate) most of the other areas. You say post fx is just motion blurring for the most part. Yea if all is that that effects i can kiss post fx goodbye.

I was wondering about sli scaling with the 900 series. I mean hell your almost double. If that is the case i think i might get my second titan before i set up my loop for my titan.

I've noticed Vram usage gets to over 3300mb when I run at the above mentioned settings at 1080p, maybe that's causing your issue? I'm sure you have already checked this though?

Yeah, I was honestly very surprised by the scaling and performance gain, I've used sli with 8800gt/gtx580/670s and now 980's and it really has come a long way.

In raw hardware yeah, but Titan X has to face the inefficient DX11, if the scene has too many draw calls, framerate will suffer. PS4 optimization is done much lower.

It's not just motion blur but it's mainly blurring effects. I always turn it off and laugh as other people claim you can't run 4k "maxed" on a single Titan X because something that actually makes games look worse (blur) is eating up 10 FPS in everything.
