It's not just that but this game will be utterly unplayable for 99% of people, and it's graphics aren't exactly amazing. If this is true, it's bad enough that people will probably be demanding for refunds.

A GTX 780 is getting 20FPS at 1440p with not even maxed settings. An Original titan gets a whopping 21FPS, again not even maxed settings. This will go down as the single worst optimized PC game in history if this is true.

I'd wait afew more days until some more reviews start rolling out just so we have a consistent picture before making judgement. As long as hair works is the only thing i need to turn off to run it well then it's fine. Of course i would have preferred they develop something that ran well on ALL their customers hardware but i guess it is what it is.

The more I think about it, it's like Gameworks is some terraforming tool whereby Nvidia lowers performance on everyone thus forcing them to keep buying gpus. wheee.gif

Sadly, gameworks just makes this problem worse, but even with it disabled the performance across the board is still unplayable at 1440p even on very high end GPUs.

I find those results hard to believe. We need some more benchmarks.

That wouldn't surprise me ... think they might be a little intimidated by the 300 series of AMD cards? Cripple all but the latest Nvidia so people 'think' they have to buy Nvidia to stay in the game ? lol rolleyes.gif

When Nvidia was working on Proj Cars, they totally forgot about TW3. I kid. I kid. tongue.gif Seriously, Nvidia owners should be pissed seeing these benches. We need more numbers from different sites.

Yea, really. What is the point of Gameworks? Why do they even need it if their cards are so superior to the old AMD cards. It doesn't compute.

What does this have to do with nVidia screwing over their OWN customers?

The point of gameworks is to speed up development time of developers who want to use it. It contains prewritten code that developers after purchase can use and edit. But built into it, contains very specific optimizations that favor specifically to the latest generation of nvidia GPUs. Even if they have the lead, usage of it further increases their performance vs other competitors(and oddly themselves when speaking about kepler vs maxwell). This easily makes nvidia's non full maxwell chips look even better than they really should(960 beating many top end cards). Plays on the idea that nvidia can make more for less(sell GM204(980/970) and GM206(960)) as flagship level products when they really aren't.

The thing that is most important is speeding up development time. The problem that arises is the cost that is taken to speed up that development time using this method.
