Probably hard to get repeatable numbers. Going to take a while, I'd guess.

Not sure how reputable these guys are though. Give it a few more days. Sites are gonna bench the hell out of this game. For good or for worse.

http://www.gamersnexus.net/game-bench/1947-witcher-3-pc-graphics-card-fps-benchmark

This is the conclusion from that site. Lol.

Conclusion: A Poorly Optimized Launch

Some of the game's settings are tanking performance of the 99th and 99.9 percentile FPS ranges. The lowest 1% and 0.1% dips in our above FPS charts are bad enough that the game visibly stutters at times, producing a hiccup-like motion as we move across the map. It's not experience-ruining, for the most part, but is noticeable on occasion to the experienced PC gamer. The settings are something we're actively investigating for the next article, due for publication shortly. Bugs with 1440p availability are somewhat confusing and make it impossible to bench cards that could otherwise prove worthy at the mid-range resolution.

It takes serious hardware to play the Witcher 3 right now. The game doesn't scale remotely as well as GTA V – a title that is played shockingly well on some IGPs – and it remains to be seen whether further driver updates or game patches will resolve this. To play the game at Medium / 1080 with 60+ FPS average, you'd need either an R9 290X from the AMD camp or GTX 970 from the nVidia camp; 1080p / ultra seems hard even on a GTX 980. And, yes, we do not presently have a GTX 970 available for benchmarking -- that's something we're looking to remedy. We're also missing an R9 280X despite requests, but hope to add one of those (or a predecessor) in the near future.

VRAM consumption never exceeded 2.7GB during our testing, which is noteworthy -- many of the games we've benchmarked lately (ACU, FC4, GTA V) have exceeded 4GB when the memory is available to the system. System RAM consumption hovered around 2.1GB.

You'll only get 60fps at 1080 with Titan X. 290x is plenty for most games. thumb.gif

Welp that about sums it up for me, thanks. I'll of course keep an eye on other reviews, but this will be a steam sale game for me, assuming future drivers/patches get better performance. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting to max it at 4k, but it looks like even low on 4k would be a mess on a single 290x where as I can play GTA V with a respectable mix of mostly high/max and some medium/off at 4k just fine, or games like BF4 on almost max, etc.

Read this boys.

In the end:
"Note that the impact of Gameworks is actually greater on the 980 than the 780 Ti, proving without a doubt that Gameworks is not what’s killing the 780 Ti."

Maybe it's all about your level, because even Aard wasn't stunning him like I see in many videos.

Reminds me of TW2's balance issues. The game was very easy, then you have random parts that are ultra hard and frustrating. Though they patched and improved most those issues with time.

I've got 12 hours in and yet to find a better silver sword. Loot appears randomly generated. tongue.gif

Nope, I'm on normal. I dunno, when I shot it mid-dive it always crashed to the ground and I was able to beat on it a bit before it got back up. I also completed pretty much every side quest before starting the fight. Also playing with KB&M.

It has to be based on level of your character then. You were probably equal or higher level so he was stunned longer. I've seen others having big problems, but I've also seen videos where people can clearly stun it for upwards of 2 seconds making the fight a joke.

If I used Aard or the bow to make it crash, he immediately got up every time. I had him land on top of me a few times, did a single quick attack followed by an immediate roll and still he clipped me sometimes.
