[pcgameshardware]Witcher 3 benchmarks - Page 10

Primary difference is the sharpening filter used on those old trailers. That sharpening filter is in the game as you can see it in the xml config files but is set to off by default because it causes a lot of strain to watch for extended periods of time. You are welcome to turn it on if you so choose.

Fortunately, we will find out definitively in just a few hours so no need to bother quarreling about it. thumb.gif

Nvidia should make a statement. Project cars and now this.

Honestly.. At least consoles' hardware is pretty much guaranteed to not be shoved under the rug for 3-6 years, if this benchmark is true then the 780 didn't even make it through 2...

This is coming from a strictly PC gamer, only ever owned a PS2, a decade ago. I'd imagine hardcore console enthusiasts would be ecstatic to see this pan out with 2yr old PC hardware being made redundant..

They are not gimping kepler intentionally, just spending no time at all optimizing or updating drivers for them now(pritty much completely abandoned them) which is not any better tbh. Still a crappy thing to do, so glad I ditched my 780 when they were still fetching a decent price and grabbed a 980.

I've been calling this for a while now on various threads...

Nvidia will do absolutely ANYTHING in their power to cripple their own stuff and push more sales

They're getting bolder now and doing it at an even faster rate

If you own maxwell, especially 980 or Titan x, don't feel sorry for kepler owners.....your turn is coming very soon mad.gif

Fastest card in the world!! (for 3 months and 2 games) Screw Nvidia

lol old tech?

Nvidia conspiracy runs pretty deep for some people on this forum, but this whole Kepler issue is not one of them. Nvidia is just not trying to help Kepler owners out at all. They have stopped trying to optimize at all for Kepler and are spitting in the faces of many of their customers. People claiming different are the ones that are delusional.

I guess I'll be going with a 390x instead of 980 Ti, or whatever those bastards will come up next.

Basically you just get to choose which company you are gonna be unhappy with lol.
based on what? As far as I'm aware you haven't even seen how the game actually looks yet when cranked up aside from some screenshots and compressed video clips.

I think I will be less unhappy with the 300 series AMD cards... lol
Less upfront investment than NV's top end card (hopefully), and more importantly, longevity of architectural support (don't care whether its because AMD is unable to release a new card, or whether AMD does support its cards longer than NV). I don't sell my hardware like a serial manic upgrader.... so AMD may be a better option...lol
