I think it's worth pointing out - we should wait a few days to see how the performance pans out. Judging drivers for a game on the day the game came out is just narrow minded. Are the drivers bad? Yes. Will they be fixed? Based on the YEARS of evidence and past experiences, yes.

I think the topic should be more "Drivers day 1 suck" - not "Drivers day 1 suck, let's make our final judgment RIGHT NOW and form allegations on the matter"

I'm HOPING you guys bring out the pitch forks and scream "burn Nvidia for crippling our 700 series cards for gree" - then in 2-3 days time they release a driver that doubles performance. I'm hoping.

Well..... you can kinda say the same for AMD.... Last I heard, they were dropping mantle 1.0 saying that the new DirectX pretty much does what it was trying to do in lowering the overhead for the calls.

Can you show me benchmarks of TressFX On vs Off? Just that. Lets keep things even. I hear they are simular, but how much does it affect the rest of the game? I kinda wonder if both go down 10fps or just Nvidia?

Buuuuut AMD doesn't update their drivers.... Nvidia always updates their drivers with optimizations specifically made for each AAA game that is released. I prefer frequent updates rather than HUGE ones.

No they didnt, AMD denies both Intel and Nvidia access to the Mantle API to work with it or optimize for it until the time when Mantle would have been released publicly (AMD's words not mine). Then AMD shut down Mantle before it was ever released. They still released this! And transitioned the development into Vulkan.

I am sorry but a world without proprietary software will never exist, and frankly, even as a developer, I wouldn't want to live in such a world where a programmer or business are not allowed to protect their property rights or their creations.
