Granted, but the tick tock nature of hardware releases from NVIDIA and competitor should have been noticed YEARS back, by anyone who has been following.

Are you trying to say NVIDIA can only pull out a 10-20% lead against AMD, or do you think maybe they do that because its all they NEED to do?

You are basically saying that if AMD had its crap together, then we would still only be seeing haswell level performance from Intel. Really?

Maybe you geniuses don't get it. They need AMD to stay alive with about 20% of the market share so the governments don't come to break them up for being a monopoly. That's the kind of collusion we're talking about. AMD has to look like they're a competitor for it to work.

Yeah, you're right, these companies give us %100 each cycle, the incremental 10-15% performance gains just keep panning out the same way each release is just a co-incidence...

Seriously these prices. In all honesty, it's quite silly. If I had to put a build together now I'd rather settle some some GPU between the mid/high-end and put any extra Money towards SSD's.
It feels like the industry has made much greater strides within the field of storage than Graphics as of late... especially pricewise.

Don't care what you guys say but i think that the titan success has a huge influence on the cost of flagship gpu we see today not that I'm giving amd a pass here but it is what it is. I'll stick to the $200 price range gpus.

Well a gpu without a node shrink or a higher density node in general means that architectural improvements are the norm for more performance. Ever since late 2011 early 2012 the 28nm node improved steadily it now is a very well proven node and very cost effective. But ever since Big Kepler and Hawaii the only way forward was better arch or a extra big die both of which will have been exhausted. So then there is only arch improvements left if one wants to stay on 28nm. After 3,5 long years 14/16nm is finally on the horizon. Which is the equivalent of 2 full node shrinks we will then once again see massive gains. Followed by 2-4 years of slow improvements.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/R9_290X/27.html

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_Titan_X/29.html

7970 Ghz -> Titan, +30%.
Titan -> 290X, +0%.
290X -> Titan X, +40%

This 10-15% stuff is in your head. AMD is doing itself no favors by only matching Nvidia's old flagship. Maybe people like you and darkpriest should stop promoting higher prices by buying their new crap if you're so concerned about prices. Buying the 980, especially before significant price drops, is called being a bad consumer.
