[WCCF]Witcher 3 Benchmarked, GTX Titan Does 30FPS At 1080P And Ultra Settings - Page 16

Thats why I laugh at people that defend the downgrade by saying our cards can't handle it. If you can make models like The Last of Us look that good on PS3, you can't tell me you can't do it on PC. Its a joke really

I'd like to see some benches to back that up, and if true, what image quality trade-offs the driver is making under the hood. Because that kind of performance gain doesn't come free. Maybe older drivers aren't compatible with new Gameworks features, and they are silently disabled - which may actually be a good thing.

right now it seems like this is an anecdotal type gain, a guy on a forum from another forum type thing. If this gains traction and some users can demonstrate or a few sites pick this up and demonstrate it then that would be very interesting to say the least

For those having problems Try lowering shadows. Just set it to low. I know we like to brag on having ultra but when it comes to W3, Low shadows looks almost the same as ultra. Its a joke really.

Its almost as if CDPR is trolling us. Its like the put ultra settings just to kill performance and nothing else

Are my eyes deceiving me, or low actually looks better?

Gonna check this out, and post here.

I'm gonna keep this in mind and look for some more definite examples, but if that's true. dang!!!!

I thought that at first too but if you look at the horse's butt and the house on the right, there is a little more shadow but nothing to write home about.

You wanna know the wierd thing, it wouldn't be far fetched to say some low settings would look better. Why? I just saw a gameplay of PS4 and I swear the human hair models on the PS4 look better than what I see in my game. Not only that but I know my game looked sharper after I disabled the post processing crap

Thats what I have been doing since I started playing. It sucks we have to but it is what is. I am done playing the ULTRA specs game. Its apparent to me that a bunch of those settings contribute little

Works fine for me ~120fps 1080p with single 980

Hairworks cost me 30fps, just from having it on the main character only. The camera is probably too close to their head and they're running 100'000 hair strands with MSAA.

Other stuff i disabled was shadows (low), ambient occlusion (off), foliage render distance (medium) and maybe 1 or 2 other notches to medium and FPS in the ~110-150 range.

It's not max, but a Titan X at 1500mhz would have ~170-190fps in that scene and settings. "Max" involves too many settings that destroy your performance (like hairworks costing 1/4 to 1/3'rd of your fps on the main character) for little visual gain.

Those Geforce guides do a pretty good job of explaining the settings and performance impacts. I didn't look at the TW3 one yet, but the GTA5 one was great.
