The game just released and is probably going to need patches and optimizations along with drivers needing improvements. MultiGPU performance isn't going to be top notch out the gate. Hell if it can't run good on a single GPU why would it run good on multigpu?

I haven't bought the game yet for two reasons "gameworks/nvidia hairdos" and waiting for CF support. Being an early adopter is always prone to issues. I also don't understand why people still expect highest in game settings to be always playable. It is pretty much a given max settings are either too much for current hardware, or poorly optimized or a little of both. If you guys arent happy with pre orders and PC releases and PC hardware why not just save yourself the aggravation of posting your constant misery online. Go get a console and be done with it. Games like Witcher 3 don't need 144hz + 144FPS + MAX SETTINGS do they? I mean isn't 144hz\144fps more for FPS gamers who need it for competition? Who are you competing against in Witcher 3?

I wish you all the best and hope in the end your happy but it's hard to understand how with all the bashing and whining on these threads...

I get what you are saying but you are taking it out of context. You realize it might be hundreds of different people who write a comment and that's it, the rest of their day goes on and they live their life. Sure when you read 50 peoples comments are once it seems like everyone is bickering, but this is normal, ever go to a bar and hear people talk about sports?( I'm guessing you haven't )

People who spend more money than others on the best hardware expect better results, while it may not be 100% all around better, someone who paid $1000 for a gpu does not expect someone who paid $140 to get the same experience as them.

Telling someone who owns a high end pc to get a console is fishing for a flame war, you are telling someone to enjoy less things and of a lesser quality because of someone elses problem. At the end of the day it's not the owners fault, and consumers are tired of the rinse and repeat scenarios from every company involved.

I am not saying buy a console to flame, i am just saying if you want a simplified out of the box experience with least amount of troubles then console is the route. I just can't wrap my head around why people preorder PC games with exotic/high end setups and expect it to run flawless. Why are people still surprised after release hour that the game runs bad. It's been this way for years. The thing is probably in a few weeks it will be running much better and hopefully people will be happy.

What I mean is saying something like that might not be an intentional flame, but trust me this is the place where it would cause a flame war ( you know what I mean tongue.gif )

It's supposed to be simple but it's not, consumers have allowed developers to continue this trend by actually pre-ordering. Sure we can't blame people who pre-order and I'm not trying to. My whole point is we are paying for results and we are getting attempts. If I go to a good steakhouse there will be a reason the ribeye costs $80, a decent steakhouse costs less, a cheap diner then very cheap, regardless where I go I expect people to do their job right and that's what those people with high end setups expect, results. (obviously everyone expect in the bigger picture)

Too much going on behind the walls of these companies and it only results in consumers getting shafted, each and every time.

I have been pretty happy with my 780 classy SLI setup for awhile now. I have been able to play just about all of my games at 60FPS bare minimum with most if not all settings maxed.
This really seems to be only game I am having poor performance with.

-FC4 ultra w/Nvidia stuff on 4X MSAA I get ~60-65 FPS(last time I played was ~2 months ago though)
-GTA V mostly maxed, I think I have PP on Very High and Reflections on High average 70 FPS.
-DAI maxed w/ fade touched textures and 2x MSAA average about 60 FPS(but I have not played for at least a month)
-W3 PP on high, graphics on high, hairworks off ~50-60FPS

I really thought I would be able to hit 60 FPS on ultra, with maybe one or two settings on high.
The perf difference between this and the 970 is staggering though.
I usually see the 780 classy a few FPS behind the 970 in benches.

*1440p btw.

Nothing new here, big over hyped title turns out to be pretty crappy on release but improves with 6 months and some patches, a common theme.
There is a bit of arcade console port rubbish around and most of it is probably best avoided. Usually they are quickly forgotten and just disposable eye candy with little else.
I tend to buy PC only games and if I do get one of these big hype big titles it's on sale in the bargain bin after some patches.

Tried again with dual 6950s, and hated it (that was probably my fault though, since I went with the 1GB model). I suppose I only really ran into issues when running multiple cards in an AMD system... but I had such a bad experience that when I recently had the opportunity to purchase a 295x2, I chose not to.

I have literally never had an issue with any Nvidia card setup I've owned, from my dual GTX260c216s, to my dual GTX460s, to my single 560Ti, to my single 670, and now my single 970.

I'm currently running Xfire 5770s, and have been for years now. They've run flawlessly. Probably something on your end.

Performance in this game is really, really bad for Kepler GPUs.
Man that is pretty bad. Im running a single Titan X and getting 55-65fps @ 1440p with complete max settings, except motion blur off. Hopefully NV will give Kelper some updates. I dont understand what could be holding it back so much. SLI maybe, what is your GPU use?

Why not just get a PS4 now and what until there is some real separation between the two platforms?
If you cant tell the difference between 30fps & 120fps, or 900p vs 1440p or 4K, then you should indeed get a console. BTW Witcher 3 runs @ 30fps/900p on Xbone, & 30fps/1080p on PS4.

Lord 1300 on the core and those results? It makes you wonder why all Kepler based cards benchmarks are tanking. Yeah my classy is only at 1110mhz on the backup at 1137mhz on the primary when it doesn't downclock due to heat. Getting 30-40s now that i changed shadows to High, HBAO-SSAO, NPC count to med, and aberration off. Will probably take a couple of patches and a driver to get it really running right. If they still care...lachen.gif

Anyone else on nvidia, forced to play at stock clocks for this?. The game crashes the driver every 10 mins or so if the card is overclocked. Which for the record I'm 99.9% sure is stable. It's the sameclocks I used for GTA V.

Which is quite unfortunate, because I was banking on my overclock bumping my 970 to 980 performance. Especially seeing as i'm running at 1440p.

+1

This driver can't even handle OC in Google Chrome, getting crash and recover errors... Been stable since I got this 970 in March and now it's running like garbage if OC'd. GG NVIDIA.

Also, I truly feel bad for the folks with 700 series cards. I wonder if it has to do with the single/multithread differences in the newer cards. It's a damn shame that HW only lasts one generation anymore and the cost keeps increasing.
