Try stopping the server and adding routes manually:
Code:
sudo route add MY.PLEX.IP.HERE YOUR.GATEWAY.IP.HERE

It's been a few years since I've used Plex with a VPN but I think this was my solution... you might also try manually specifying the port and see if that makes a difference (go to web server settings, network, and then click advanced to reveal port choice).

The only reason I am thinking it may not be firewall is because i have pretty muched opened up outside access. In a sonicwall you can choose to allow any traffice from WAN to Lan.

Thanks. Ill dig around that and see.

I have a VPN to the server so I can work with it in vpshere but we can access it outside because we have the IP registered with a domain name.

EDIT:

I looked through the documentation and I did provide enough information. I dont have a VPN directly to the server but from firewall to firewall to the Sonicwall in the lab environment to the sonicwall in the production environment.

At this point I have no idea whats going on.

I upgraded PMS.

I was reading the logs and saw this

I think I am going to just rebuild this server. Possibly stick to CentOS 6.6 instead of 7 like i did last time.

heres a snippit of the log
Code:

This is how it started. I initially built the server using CentOS 7 with a KDE gui with all the works.

this ended up being too slow and i didn't need the overhead of GUI.

So i figured I would try Ubuntu Server, never had any luck so after a few days of messing with it i said lets try this and built it using Centos6.6 Minimal and so far it works.

Also dont forget all of these are virtual machines running on an ESXI 5.5. host.
