Is There A Better Deal Than 2 GTX 660's for $250? - Page 2

Buying NEW 660s right now would be a poor decision, one you will be vRAM limited. Two, kepler seems to be doing worse and worse in each new game released (not sure if true, but seems to be the case).

I would go for something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202143&cm_re=r9_290-_-14-202-143-_-Product (~255 after rebate)

(~$10 over budget, but worth it imo).

This.

660 SLI used to work wonders @1080p, I used them before. But with the way nvidia treats Kepler user atm, it's just not worth it.

Yep, and if he is unhappy with his investment 6 months down the road he'll be very unhappy with the person who LET him buy those 660's knowing better at the time. I can sympathize with your situation, GPU shopping with someone who wants a card NOW. We were all at that point once, patience works wonders in a build though.

No problem!

I made a similar mistake a few weeks ago and don't want anyone else doing the same.

Bought a 660ti used for like $90 and was underwhelmed with its performance.

Gtx 750ti good cheap card. I'd say go with what the guy showed in an earlier post as sli isn't always as good as people make it out to be and have issues. Best bet one good card for the money he has

Here's my advice. ALWAYS go for the more powerful single card. NEVER go SLI right off the bat.

One gpu always better option since it allows a second gpu in the future

IF you already had one 660 and wanted to upgrade a second thats a better choice than buying 2 at once
