Yes lasers have hardware acceleration that can not be turned off. Lasers work better on different surfaces. That's probably only pro over an optical sensor.

The Sensei based on the options you selected.

I have pretty much stolen this thread from the owner and I'm sorry for it. I will have to look into getting myself an optical mouse and trying it out. If there really is 6-7% difference (acceleration) as mentioned in the article above than I might switch. But boy do I love G500 grip and I'm not sure I could switch.

+reps' for all your answers.

If u feel confortable with g502 and the logitech ergonomy, but the problem is only the weight, u can go for a logitech g402, lots of praises and really not much complains about.
I wouldnt go for the rival , i bought it dayone and was a great delusion in every aspect. The DA is quite uncofortable for me, but i cant say much more about it since my last DA was the 3.5, so different sensor(very good btw),coating and driver .

If it can be useful my hand is 19.5/20 cm long and i use a hybrid(weird) grip: i have found Mionix Naos 7000,Kone Pure Military and G400 to be the best mice for me.But im still searching for a perfect successor of ime 1.1 with higher pcs.
I dont like the switches/main buttons in zowies mice(my Zowies mice are the am and ec1 evo).

Edit for trito:
If u feel good with g500 shape the g402 should be the best option.

Edit 2:
i measured my hand and actually i gave u a false information: is 21 cm long, not 19.5/20 cm as previously stated in my post.

If he handles G500 with no problem, G502 weight won't bother him too.

I think I officially own the thread biggrin.gif
Thanks for the info guys. I read that G502 has a really good sensor in the review on this site but isn't it still laser?
Weight has never been problem to me, I usually use max weight on my G500.
I am not big fan of the design of 502 tho.

It's IR led.

As for OP. Deathadder is pretty much a brick just like 502. Try if 402 works for you.

Avoid both steelseries and razer, they have horrendous build quality, all of their mice use cheap switches that will start double clicking and cheap wheel encoders that will become useless, just look for the deathadder 2013 amazon product page for example, it is full of people complaining about the build quality.

Zowie uses decent sensors and the shapes, but the scroll wheel is allways bad and they allways have some defect, there is some people complainig about the EC1-A sensor malfunctioning, the same happened with the evo CL.

Pro gamers usually know nothing about mice technology, they usually use some products because of their sponsors.

If you want a good and reliable mouse you should stick to logitech, or roccat or mionix, try a logitech g303 or a g402, or a roccat kone pure optical or kone pure military, or a mionix naos 7000

I will stick with G500 and G700 for now. Speaking about mionix haven't read any good reviews for them but I have to say the mionix mouse they kickstarted with the HR sensor was pretty sick.
