Delta color compression also (or whatever AMD is calling it), plus whatever GCN 1.2 improvements are under the hood. Hard to know what exactly is the limiting factor in the game. How does the 285 look in pCars - similar improvements there, I wonder?

Scientific method has served us much better than pitchforks and torches ever did. Then we can be like "Yo ManuelG, your driver team is high, reflections are broke yo."

People are claiming all kinds of things like 30 FPS on everything low... without judging the image quality, I would say the game was broken or they are trying to run 4K with DSR set to 2.00x.

yeah I agree. I'm all for some jokes and jabs , but generally prefer evidence and data. I will probably try some settings myself but don't have a range of drivers , time, different cards and alot of other things that help when establishing comparisons. Most I'll be able to do is go "hmm reflections ARE broke yo!" (love that) as I'm dropping 15 fps just with those. Sounds like a task for "AFTER WORK MAN" biggrin.gif

Does Witcher 3 have a built-in benchmark tool or this just data from gameplay? Anyone know?

Looks like my evening maybe involved in this, after all I have the hardware for it.

But HD 7970 still have clock advantage and core advantage. Delta Color Compression help just to keep 256-Bit relevant. Either way maybe it took AMD this long to show what GCN 1.2 can do. If this performance is because of GCN 1.2 if they just refresh 290X to GCN 1.2 we would see 20-30% improvements.

No benchmark, gameplay only.

Latest rumors sound like that's exactly what they are going to do.

no in game benchmark, so there's that as well (variables wise) although the game is not as random i.e. the intro is the same for everyone so who knows if it's reliable

Sigh, might need to wait till this weekend, pull out spreadsheets and a beer. Do a performance cost per setting analysis and then do an image quality analysis.

Nvidia's already done a lot of that - not sure how much you trust their performance numbers, but those sliding quality pictures they have are nice.
