Dell P2715q severe backlight bleed?

Hello all,

I just received this monitor a few days ago and I was really not impressed with it out of the box. The viewing angles seemed terrible on dark screens, worse than TN and I was really wondering what was wrong? Did a backlight bleed test and this is what I found at 0,50, and 100% brightness.

This isn't normal for this monitor correct? lol Maybe there is some unknown issue I'm unaware of but I doubt it.

That's called IPS glow. Its not back light bleed as such. Its one of the draw backs of the IPS panel tech. The severity depends on the specific ISP panel type but they all have it.

That is unless you are referring to the slight back light bleed that's happening in the lower left corner.

There's no way that's normal. Playing the Witcher 3 during night (in game) I can barely see the corners of the display. It's awful. Never happened on my QNIX 1440p monitor.
