Wake up, they providing insight about their beta product is about helping their sale, not "lucky for the consumers". Without doing so do you think studio can pull crap like Early Access?

So in this case say one of those things effects the graphical fidelity on trees, or the grass. Ok so this isn't a step up, but it's going to improve the performance and we're working with what we have.
PS4 have the same kind of graphical fidelity as PC ultra on trees or the grass which mean they definitely can make the game look better but gimped the PC version so their console master won't rage about getting worse product.

I think what CD have done in this statement is basically just forcibly made them say what most of us should have known from the off. A PC centric game just doesn't pay for itself in this market,
it is irony as CD is a company that raised to fame and got rich by making PC centric game.

Is anyone here going to seriously argue that we are getting better games for PC now that most devs are making cross-platform games for PCs and consoles than we were back when Valve, Crytek, Dice, CD Projekt, etc. were making PC-only games?

IMO, absolutely not. I find the argument devs make about this really questionable. We got GREAT, enormous, comprehensive, intelligent PC games just 7-8 years ago... are we to believe that the PC game market has diminished so substantially since then that developers can no longer make these types of games without consoles?

Personally, if it's between the quality of PC games we used to get, and another generic, consolized, "AAA" shiny, simplified-for-consoles blockbuster game, I'd take the fewer-compromises PC game every time.

It has nothing to do with eating up what is told without questioning, it has to do wit common sense and knowledge about the game industry
And yes 8 years ago it was very different.

If they say that if the game would not be on console the game would not be on PC in a state like this what is to question about it?

Everyone knows making expensive games like this wont result in enough profit to make it just for the PC. How crap do u think the game would have looked if it was PC only??? And it looks like u are saying u prefer that while u make a fuzz about what has happened now??

This is how it is going to be, this is what changed in those 8 years that u maybe missed.

There will be gems like GTA V for PC, that just took 3 years longer than console release because yes its not a dumb port they made it AFTER console release piece for piece. If there was no GTA V on console there was no GTA V on PC (maybe top down shooter style or like miami hotline).

Would u have prefered TW3 for PC would have lauched 3 years after console release? (what is no option because cdprojekt does not have the resources to do that like rockstar).

PC only gaming nowadays is Early Acces DAYZ and so one.

Like i said.

Cold hard truth. Do i like it? No.
Uhh...you know that gta 5 was the 4th most played game on PC right for the month of may? It beat dota 2. Hell it's sold over 2million copies in under a month. That's crazy. Given how many times the game was delayed.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2015/05/01/surprise-gta-5-is-also-a-massive-hit-on-pc/

Developers don't make games out of the goodness of their heart. If a game wouldn't be profitable on a certain platform, they wouldn't continue to release it on that platform. These are all about risks and return on their investment. It's like all forms of investments.

Nevertheless, the consoles are not to blame for the downgrade. If consoles were to blame, why are they giving away the game for free with GPUs? Why the 4k showcase? Why the proprietary technology? Why continue to push that the PC version is the best prior to release?

They're the scape goat because instead of making the game in "2013" quality, they scraped it when they got their hands on X1 and PS4 dev kits.

Assuming the X1 and PS4 were somewhat on par with modern PCs, you better believe it would look just like the 2013 demo.

I don't even think it's a matter of it being more expensive to put HQ art assets in a game since it's often harder to make something run on a toaster than a powerful system.

They just decided to target the consoles ONLY. That's why the PC high and ultra settings look almost the same as the consoles. All of their optimization was done for consoles. For the PC version, they slap on nVidia Gameworks and let users adjust some sliders.

It's even easier this generation since the consoles are x86 based. All the fortune is in the console market. Just be lucky the consoles were x86 so we should get most games on the PC now...

Gameplay > Graphics, oh wait this is OCN.

The games control mechanic even reflected that. Witcher 3 wasn't an early access title so not sure where the comparison is there.

I also said that I manually increased the graphic fidelity with LOD distancing and shadowmapping and it crippled the game, but if you'd rather play like that then that's your prerogative.

The only irony here is in the expression forest through the trees considering that's what graphics you are talking about.

Do you have a source for that? Cause it came on Xbox 360 almost a year after PC and simply looked like a watered-down port.

I'm saying that everyone is making a mountain out of a molehill. Everyone wanted the second coming of Crysis with respect to graphics, didn't get it, so now they put on their armchair developer hats and declare that the sky is falling. It's really pathetic.

If this game were bad, I'd be irritated at CDPR. But this game isn't bad. In fact, it's excellent. But all everyone wants to do is sad-smiley-002.gif.

Also yes, I think PC gaming is better now than it was 10 years ago. The business model(s) maybe not, but the actual games? Yes.

For Christ's sake how many times do we have to repeat this? The quality of the gameplay has no relevance to the graphics downgrade complaints. No relevance AT ALL. Stop using that lame argument over and over again.

?? It still looks like a watered-down port. Considering it was released a year later, they managed to tweak a thing for the best but it certainly doesn't look like a game that was meant to be on consoles from Day 1.
