super duper noob question but can i reseat and install ram into my motherboard while it's in my case? or would the pressure potentially crack the board? I've always installed my ram on the mobo box because it's a flat surface compared to the mobo on the case standoffs..
reason why im doing this is because my system stopped booting while my ram was on the xmp profiles, had to set to it to auto in the mobo settings but im not getting the right speeds/timings
I do it all the time, just make sure when you put it in it's lined up properly so you don't put too much pressure on the motherboard when installing the ram. I usually push softly on the ends of the ram instead of middle and insert it slightly angled. The motherboards are not extremely rigid but you want to be as careful as possible.
