I play at 40-45fps and it feels like 80fps no joke. Maybe it is because the game is so responsive... Anyway, this game WAS optimized extremely well. Aliasing - 100x better than in GTA V, although it still needs SweetFX 2.0 beta 8 FXAA + SMAA + LumaSharpen to offset FXAA + SMAA blur. Without SMAA and FXAA, there is mild aliasing, but not crazy like in GTA V and without much shimmering!

i notice that also sence crossfire is broke im getting between 20-30fps with a single 7970 maxed out using ccc to set tes to 64x looks great and never really feels laggy or jumpy and more patches to come and drivers for both sides to make the game run better and look even better.

Good to see some good patches. I'll wait for this game. Maybe wait until it shows up on Linux. Main thing discouraging me are the control complaints I've seen around the forums. Dragon Age Inquisition was atrocious KB+M during launch and the first couple of months. I started playing it again last week and the KB+M controls were a lot better. Hopefully The Witcher gets better as well.

High-five for the 7970 awesomeness ! cheers.gif

For a 2011 card I do think it has impressive performance considering the problems 'better' cards are having with the game.

I'll leave this here, I ... generally agree with the review from my playthrough of about 10 hours into the game now:

Running a single (until the new AMD Drivers come out) overclocked 290X (1100core/1500mem) at 3840 × 2160 (4K). Pre patch I was getting 30FPS Vsync / limitier locked with no fluctuation with largely very high settings apart from foliage (medium) and shadow (medium) and running SSAO instead of HBAO+ and obviously no hairworks, also AA was turned off.

With new patch was able to turn AA back on and still maintain 30FPS locked. Very impressive for a single card to do this. When AMD xfire patch is out i'll leave it locked at 30 (which is very smooth with a controller) and up the details back to Ultra on all and increase the foliage a notch, fingers crossed.

Game looks great, plays great, couldn't ask for more.

From my observations Crossfire scales good on the engine. I've played with renaming the executable to bf4.exe and this enabled crossfire (although with various interface bugs and some white flickering) - I was able to max the game on my 290s with tweaked HairWorks and SSAO with forced AFx16 via CCC - ran over 60FPS for certain, however I didn't have a counter on.

is this different from checking the box in CCC for "enable crossfire for applications that have no associated profile" ?

when I do that for this game, it gets very screwed up and each GPU is only utilized about 52%

It behaves differently. Renaming, although introducing glitches, utilizes the videocards to the fullest, so the framerate difference would be vast. Test it out, just create a copy of the executable and rename it. smile.gif

E: Oh, and make sure you launch the game from it since the GOG launcher will simply recreate the witcher3.exe and launch the game via it.

Little to no fps gain on gtx 760 with the patch except for when Hairworks is on. Earlier it lost around 20fps and now around 10 but still keeping it off to maintain 40ish fps average.
