Insane voltage using offset on ASUS Hero 7

Hi guys.
Just picked up a 4790k and got it up to 4.8 pretty easy on 1.31v (not the best I've seen, but far from the worst). Problem is I put the off set voltage to 0.236 (stock is at 1.104), BIOS says thats right, but my calculator says 1.34(first *** moment). now when I go into Windows and put the power setting to performance, my voltage goes to 1.47V, not the nice 3.1 I set it to. On balanced it also goes to 1.47 when the cores are at full speed **not in the least stressed or benching. ***? I know I just came from an AMD setup and offset there was a piece of cake. I must have missed some thing, somewhere. What do I need to do to set offset and not have it crank the voltage to an insane level? Does this on adaptive too.

Is there a guide around for this, preferably with an ASUS BIOS? If someone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

Never mind. I'm an idiot. I wasn't factoring in the " turbo mode" over voltage. Once I stressed the system at stock speed and got what the voltage at turbo frequency was at (seeing as it is listed nowhere in my Bios), I applied the offset calculated from that voltage and all is well. I think. Further testing required. This is like learning to overclock all over again. Kinda nice after being an AMD person for so long. Different animal all together.
