New build - What are my best options?

Hey everyone

I am currently using an old laptop for streaming all my media but it's seen better days. I don't need this for gaming my laptop right now consist of my auto torrent downloads from rss feeds, streaming live tv ustvnow, hockey & baseball also plex media streamed to my ps4 I also use have my 7.1 surround sound via hdmi.

I have been reading about new builds for weeks now I found this site which offers some things

http://mymediaexperience.com/htpc-builds/entry-htpc/ - This build seems decent for the price the good things I have read about the cpu power usage and being very quite build but is there better options out there for less then $350? I would ideally like to keep it at $300.00, I figured ssd would be good for speed/noise I also have a 1 tb hard external hard drive already I would use.

I priced it out on ncix - http://secure1.ncix.com/cart/ - Note I live in Canada if anyone wants to help with pricing.

Thanks

I can't see what's in your cart because that link is just a link to my cart, which is currently empty. Anyone else who clicks it will be brought to their own cart. Provide links to each item individually.
