I may grab an upgrade copy but likely not really use it until some good games for dx12 come out, which may be a long way off. After 8/8.1 I'm not so sure about windows anymore, I only use a desktop and don't care for the idea of having more stuff I won't use and a further watering down of my ability to control it (8/8.1 seemed to hide all the option in odd places/menus). Never mind the silly tablet-esque interface. Even then, if the free upgrade version isn't as good as the one you buy then I'll just be buying a copy and sitting on it.

Quite frankly, the fact that it is going to be free makes me wonder what their motive is.

Could you give some examples of these features and why they're so great? I bet that would be more helpful than your stressed conveyance. wink.gif

Two features I know of are virtual desktops, and universal scrolling (you no longer have to click on the window to be able to scroll). It's been a while since I really used Win10 though, so I'm not sure what else they added.

TBH, if I could I would still be on XP.

I am totally sick of all the bloatware and nannying MS does in windows.

I takes longer to remove the crap than it does to do a fresh install.

That said, I am currently on 7 and will probably move over to 10 when I can get an ISO for a data stick.

DX12 looks too good to miss out on.

Same here, Windows 7 was the last serious operating system for the PC then came OS 8 which is basically a HUGE fat version of windows phone OS.

Shall still be in Windows 7 even when their 10 version comes out because bloatware is here to stay for Microsoft and it will never leave their tiny minds doh.gif .

Yeah you have virtual desktops .
Ill add some screen shots for you .

Office 2016 has some major cloud backend integration with sharepoint and online document editing .

The theme is the unlocked back theme .

Notification and east access menu. You get a pop up notification with emails etc (pink is email covering up)

Search menu and start menu ( pics to come)

New apps
here is the weather one

New settings UI

Not to mention the massive speed increase in general

Great - so there will be even more ways to integrate and steal my metadata and monetise advertisements forced down my throat.

I don't want my PC doing stuff in the back ground, I don't want my PC running weather apps or e-mail pop ups or quielty downloading my browser history to the NSA

My PC should do what I tell it to, when I tell it to and NOTHING ELSE.

There is a term for programmes running on PCs that upload data to 3rd parties so they can make money off them without the users knowledge......

......They are called Viruses
