holy crap what do you guys think about this?
if it allows you to use each companies assets nvidia is going to have a fit.

if it allows you to use the gpu as a boost for the second or both as one then i don't think they'll be an issue.

It's highly unlikely that Nvidia would allow that tongue.gif

no. only thing nvidia can control is their drivers.cant control whether or not dx12 supports it. nvidia may decide to be stingy about it, but ultimately it would be silly for them not to support it, because then they would basically be bottlenecking the pc community.

One would think that then it would become a competition for the most raw horsepower Then even if you mix cards you'd still be buying at least one of the strongest cards you can afford. Does that also mean that SLI/xFire scaling is going to be a concern of the past with Dx12 games?

from my understanding, and my youtube research (lol), yes. And honestly, i might just throw a titan x in there and use a few of my older cards along with it to add a few fps while using the rift. Imagine what a regular 980 sli would do with dx12, or any sli for that matter.(not that the titan x would need any help running the rift, but might experiment with running at higher than native resolution on rift)

Well i would say perhaps this would finally get nvidia and everyone to actually work together...
Buuut knowing nVidia what they would do is apply a blocker of some kind to make the cards not work together unless its an nVidia card + nVidia, and even then it would be only in the 900 series, maybe.

I have a feeling DX12 isn't so much hardware related but more so software, or the main points of DX12 is for that matter.

all im saying is if they work together it will mean a better computer gaming environment for everyone, and i would be willing to bet that AMD wont be the one to ruin that for anyone. I dont have anything against Nvidia, or AMD. both good companies that have their own pros and cons, but if nvidia decided to block something as epic as this , then i would have a problem with Nvidia. And id imagine i wouldnt be the only one.
