Logitech registers trademark for "G310 Atlas Dawn", a new low end mechanical keyboard?

The registration specifically mentioned that it's a gaming keyboard, and the model number follows the same pattern as G910 and G710. Since both the G910 and G710 are mechanical, perhaps this one is as well, and sits at the bottom of the stack?

Anyone want to make a guess what type of switch it might use? smile.gif

Some cached google search results show up as "Compact Gaming KB" so its safe to assume that the G310 is a TKL. Not much else to find at this point but it should be revealed at computex next week.
I wouldn't be too surprised if they would use the Romer-G switches again but due to their poor choice of keycaps with the G910 I personally would prefer them to use cherry switches.

If they do a TKL board with their Romer switches but avoid the crappy keycaps they had on the super expensive higher end board I will absolutely buy one.

I want to try out those switches, but not a chance in hell I take a flyer on a board that costs as much as that first monstrosity they released.

Nah, I don't think Logitech ever launched anything at Computex. E3 mid June is far more likely.

What Logitech needs is a mainstream mechanical keyboard at the 100USD range, hard to say if Cherry MX switches are possible here (or does Logitech still buy Cherry switches, now that it has Romer G?).

I don't recall Logitech ever doing a TKL gaming keyboard before (correct me if I'm wrong on this one), but Logitech might be too sensible to do one -- Still quite a lot of games map keys to the ten-key area, though I'm not against a TKL keyboard myself biggrin.gif

Trust me, you won't want to try it. Opened the box, gave it a go, and back in the box it goes.

It almost feels like Logitech tried very hard to mimic a rubber dome keyboard, which makes no sense whatsoever. Also the keycaps. Argh.

I love the switches. Quiet, efficient. I dont like the keycaps though.

You are going to be disappointed.

Well at least some company noticed gaming with full keyboard is stupid.

Ya, I dont know why they dont make more TKL keyboards. I hate full sized keyboards. However, its not "stupid", its a preference. Some people might prefer a full sized keyboard because they do other things with them too, so it doesnt make gaming with a full sized keyboard stupid.

Unless you mean manufacturing full sized keyboard for the purpose of gaming is stupid...

But it doesnt take away from what I said, I like the switches and I hate the keycaps.

If the G310 is a TKL with the same switches i will probably buy it.

Well, though it's getting rare, some games do allow you to assign keys in the ten key area to different functions. I don't mind using a normal sized keyboard, but maybe it would be an interesting proposal to sell a TKL keyboard + a separate set of numeric keypad that can be seamlessly combined, sorta like the DiNovo Media Desktop of yore.

I am too lazy to search for pics but you could search for how those pros keyboards gets in the way of mousepad, and their game don't even use any keys past 'j' area, the only popular competitive game which uses bumped is Warcraft 3. And it's as good as dead anyway.

About the keyboard itself. Yes, it's TKL, and yes, it uses same key cap as g910.
