They did nerf, was a hotfix a few days ago that addressed it among other changes.

Nothing wrong with ATGMs. Just the T-80s alpha that is completely insane. 1000 damage HEAT ammo with crazy penetration.

Swingfire's are pretty bad since they can't shoot without LOS anymore. I don't even think the viewrange nerf is still necessary. It would make the vehicle completely worthless.

Some news:

We have decided to extend the Early Access 2 phase to 28th of June, 2015 in order for you to help us test new content.

The testing will also involve one more 24 hour weekend test - from 26th of June to 28th of June you will be able to play non-stop. But that is not all!

center

To celebrate the successful finish of the Early Access 2 phase, we have prepared several special features for you!
On EU/NA servers you will be able to test the new upcoming feature: the Encounter map mode. In it, players will be fighting over one base - the winner has to capture it or destroy the entire opposing team! Five maps will be enabled for this mode. Please help us collect as much feedback on this mode as possible, we are eagerly awaiting your impressions from testing! You can post your feedback in the Early Access section of the forums.
The test server capacity will be increased and a certain number of players will receive free Early Access invites - follow the forums and social networks carefully to find out how to get your Early Access code!
Last but not least, during this weekend in order to test the high tier vehicles, players will be able to earn twice as much reputation and three times as many credits than usual!

Added further optimizations to improve performance for all players

Detailed changes

The matchmaker mechanism was adjusted in order to produce better results and improved balance between teams
Numerous PvP maps were changed for better balance and gameplay
Unspotted vehicles now have visible tracers
Engine sounds were improved for all vehicles
The camouflage system was changed - vehicles will now be much easier to spot when they are firing
Adjusted the viewrange-affecting modules and equipment: viewrange bonuses are now additive, not cumulative

Vehicle changes

Teledyne DFSV had its textures fixed
AMX-10P viewrange was increased from 374m to 416m
AMX-10P PAC 90 viewrange was increased from 344m to 382m
BMD-1 viewrange was increased from 374m to 416m

Lowered the default ammo counts for the M113 and LAV-150
Penetration for autocannons above 20mm has been reduced by about 15% (20mm autocannon penetration is unaffected)
Penetration for non-autocannons was reduced as such: 90mm guns - about 5%, guns of higher caliber than 90mm - 15% (this change does not affect automatic cannons)
Fixed the incorrect gun mantlet armor of multiple main battle tank class vehicles ("missing mantlets" issue)
Armor of multiple main battle tank class vehicles was rebalanced (improved)
Added the support of electronic ("soft kill") Active Protection Systems such as the Shtora-1 system of the T-90 (does not need unlocking, it is present automatically). Electronic APS modules have unlimited number of uses but longer cooldowns.
Fixed the bug where main battle tanks were incorrectly losing too much speed when turning
Fixed the exploit where players were able to guide anti-tank guided missiles even without line of sight in third person
Fixed certain crew skills affecting reload times (including the "ammunition type swap" exploit from previous hotfix patch)
Swingfire view range is 440m now (reduction from 505m)
Leopard-1 view range increased to 360m (from 350m)
T-64 stock gun penetration improved slightly so it no longer gets decreased compared to T-62

Bug fixes

Fixed the rare bug where vehicles "fell through" the garage textures (the "underwater garage" bug)
Numerous UI bugs and element issues fixes
Numerous server-side bugs affecting performance and stability fixed
Fixed several issues that caused client crash
Fixed the bug where the mouse cursor was stuck in the middle of the screen during the battle countdown
Fixed the bug where clan decals did not appear in combat properly
Fixed the bug where clan decals appeared with incorrect resolution
Third person camera and first person camera are now synchronized with the same speed (not limited by turret rotation)

Because the game is in Closed beta and you need to buy your way in? The NA servers always seem to have around 600ish players at anyone time too.

I have played WoT for years. I have to say that when I first heard about AW last year I got pretty excited. Then the news and spotlight kind of went away and I lost track of it. I found out about the EA testing in June and I bought a founders pack as I LOVE tank games and this one looks like it has some real potential. Initially I kind of balked at paying money to be a alpha/early tester. Then as some have mentioned there are hundreds of games on steam that you must pay to be an alpha tester and then continue paying and then pay again once the game has final release. I decided to buy the Lord of War founder pack as it seemed to offer the most and compared to WoT was actually reasonably priced. Yes, you will see quite a few comparisons to WoT in this post, as it is the most closely related game.

I have thoroughly enjoyed playing the Early Access testing. My system specs are 4790K @4.8GHz, 16GB ADATA XPG V2 @ 2400MHz MSI Z97 Xpower AC mobo, MSI Gaming GTX 970 SLI. 23" monitor @1080p. I am able to run the game at a solid 60FPS with vsync, without vsync enabled it runs anywhere from 70-120FPS depending on number of tanks, map etc. I have to say that for a game that is still Limited Access this game has relatively few issues. I have managed to grind my way to the tier 4 MBTs, the M109 Arty, Sheridan, Swingfire, AMX 10P and the LAV 300 is unlocked, grinding credits to buy it biggrin.gif

Here is a link to a couple of videos I have made and uploaded to youtube. They include some gameplay footage from the new PVE mode as well as some platooning, and regular (PVP) gaming They are not professional in anyway, as I am sure most of you do not want to hear my redneck ass talking about a damn game thumb.gif

EA 4 release today, syncing the EU and NA servers together. Looks like they've made a rather large screw up and only synced the refund of progress from earlier versions from EU accounts. Tried one game so far just to test performance and with my 50/30 fiber connection I sit around 100ms ping to the server and overall performance seemed to be a little worse than before. Hoping it all gets sorted out in the next few days but I sure won't be playing until they sync the NA account refund because screw grinding the low tiers again.

Got back into this game today with EA5, ran into a pretty big bug though. I tried out some of the PVE that they added (I didn't have time to test it before) and playing a medium mission we encountered a leopard 2A1 that was invincible. It was the last enemy left alive and with 6 tanks shooting it for more than 5 minutes we could not pen it or even do any damage at all, even with HE. I drove around and shot it in the engine with an ATGM and it bounced right off. lol.

Seems like performance is back in the dumps too, I can't get over 35fps even on all low settings.

Performance is the issue keeping me from playing heavily. On a good round (map) I average 45fps but most maps it hovers around 30 and the map with the plane crash at the beginning has me at sub 30 fps for the first 2 minutes of the battle.
