In the meantime the Enthusiast Gaming Live guys are hosting top quality BYOC events already with plans to do another sometime in the fall for LAN party purists with a format more balanced between casual play and eSports.

this semi-hurts , was hoping for a repeat of last year. ive still got the 2014 extravalanza backround up on the wall in my office. think that was the most fun ive had in a while.

well...other than the one in the church.....that P55 classified on LN2 was priceless for me

I'd love to compete but I have no team haha and if it was a BYOC then I'd have a problem hauling my PC to Toronto on a train -_- but, regardless, I may come spectate smile.gif

i havent taken the red entrance bracelet off yet. do i win?

even though im a competitive player, i agree the casual atmosphere was fun. i am not a cs:go player but spent most of the day playing it with others just for fun. it's too bad that won't be around this year

All the computers are provided by the venue, there are no BYOC slots. If there are over 8 teams for either Dota 2 or CS:GO then teams will be hot seating (after a team finishes a match they swap out seats with a team that is waiting to compete).

Wow. It's still technically a LAN, but it's completely outside the spirit of one.

AMD is exploring the eSports and competitive gaming scene in Toronto. The past ExtravaLANzas were about a balance between competitive and casual play, this ExtravaLANza is about seeing how large and committed the competitive side of Toronto is. As I've said before this means that this time around the ExtravaLANza will be more of a tournament than a LAN. Things just didn't work out well this year between OCN's and AMD's scheduling so we were unable to collaborate on the tried and tested ExtravaLANza format from 2012 and 2014. ESChamp, the new hosting partner, is exploring a different direction than we have in the past. If everything goes well this year then next time around we should be able to have AMD confidently stand behind a larger event with enough space to accommodate both aspects of the LAN scene more adequately.

I just confirmed with AMD that we will be unveiling our Freesync monitors at this event for the public to see and play with. Hope I get to see some awesome OCN community members at the event! thumb.gif

Dang it. Now I need to find a team local to London/Toronto that I can join in with lol hopefully there's a good turn out! I'd love to see more events come to Toronto in the future.
