. Although popular does not always mean good (BEATS headphones, lol), in this case it is. There is too much positivity around Witcher 3. It undeniably raised the bar for many gaming aspects - from graphics to story to spectacular scenes, conversations/dialogues, and whole lot of other things. The only other game that gets close to it GTA V, which is also NOT over-hyped, but an excellent game.
You're an even bigger minority for not loving The Elder Scrolls and Bethesda's Fallout games, which are far more popular. Fallout 4 will easily triple, maybe even quadruple Witcher 3's sales. But it is very easy to deny that The Witcher raised any bar. It did the opposite actually, lowering the bar for role playing (since 1 and 2 have such a small amount, I assume the same for 3), for graphics (because of how overrated they are), and gameplay. This we can discuss further in PM if you want, but none of them raised any. Definitely not graphics (not a single Witcher game was technically the best looking game out, art style is subjective though), definitely not story or dialogue, definitely not "spectacular scenes" since there are more impressively choreographed cutscenes not to mention far more interactive ones in other games.Edited by boredgunner - 11/9/15 at 8:10pm
