I know it might be a bit soon to ask. How do you guys think my sig rig would go in handling Fallout 4? Should I be looking to upgrade? I'm pretty broke but might be able to fork out a little for some new parts.

I'm constantly amazed at how much life I've squeezed out of my old Radeon 5850. I'm playing Witcher 3 on medium details (no hair works or AA) but at 2560 x 1440! Smooth performance so far.

So I suspect Fall Out 4 will be a lot friendlier on the system than Witcher 3. Is that a reasonable expectation? The Fall Out games have never been GPU intensive (IMO), which makes me think I'll be able to play the game on high settings. Just a theory, until the game comes out then we'll know what's what.

Now, need to find some cash and upgrade my GPU...

Your GPU is quite a bit faster than mine. I think it'll run pretty well on the highest settings, but that's just a guess. As long as you don't play above 1440p.

Fall Out = You fell out of a window or something.

Fallout = Nuclear fallout, emotional fallout.

Anyway yes, I think I saw the ATi 5850 in a museum the other day.

I ran Skyrim for years with xfired 5850's, 1080P, and thought it was good. Am now playing it with a 280x and regularly notice details in the game that were not available with the 5850's.

My opinion has changed on what is adequate, at least when playing a game for potentially hundreds of hours. I will probably upgrade my GPU after FO4 is released and GPU performance is evaluated.

I'm just hoping my rig will run it well enough to enjoy it.

FX-4350 @ 4.5ghz oced
16gb ddr3 1600 @1866oced
Asus M5A970 rev1.02
64gb ssd (Samsung 830)
Sapphire 2gb 5870 <-replaceable if the rest is up to snuff, leaving this the weak link.. I posted about upgrading a while back to get opinions and then waited for the 3xx series cards to come out.. Love me a good AMD budget desktop.

The trailers for the game make me feel like my current setup isn't good enough even with a gpu upgrade. For max settings on my 3 way eyefinity setup. 2 X 1440/900 20" screens and 1 x 1600/900 21"

It (eyefinity) really doesn't like heavily modded fo3. That or my 4 year old 5870 is just tired.

Side note: I see ADS in the trailer being used, but what of crafting and things you can modify on weapons? I hope this was expanded on by Bethesda in discovery of the popularity of these types of mods.

I'm thinking a Thuban will shine in this game if older instruction sets don't gimp it. It will be interesting to see how 4/6/8 core FX Series compares to 4/6 core Phenoms.
