Asus M5A970 rev1.02
64gb ssd (Samsung 830)
Sapphire 2gb 5870 <-replaceable if the rest is up to snuff, leaving this the weak link.. I posted about upgrading a while back to get opinions and then waited for the 3xx series cards to come out.. Love me a good AMD budget desktop.

The trailers for the game make me feel like my current setup isn't good enough even with a gpu upgrade. For max settings on my 3 way eyefinity setup. 2 X 1440/900 20" screens and 1 x 1600/900 21"

It (eyefinity) really doesn't like heavily modded fo3. That or my 4 year old 5870 is just tired.

Side note: I see ADS in the trailer being used, but what of crafting and things you can modify on weapons? I hope this was expanded on by Bethesda in discovery of the popularity of these types of mods.

i refuse to believe you'd not be able to play on that setup but i dont think max settings the avg vram designers target is going to 4gb now. Cant remember if thats a hex core or octo core but i would strong recommend grabing a 8150 or 8350 with amd cores being priced like they are its about 200 and if you get a mid range card with 4gb ithink you'd have a great system with a nice budget.

Hey guys, not sure if you are anything like me in this respect, but I am constantly worried about PC performance in new big titles like this since The Witcher 3 brought my 2013 GTX Titan 6GB to its knees.

Every day, about 3 times per day, I look up FO4 news to see if PC performance reviews have been released, testing graphics cards and CPUS - to see how my rig measures up and the settings I can expect to use on launch.

However, I feel now that after weeks of fruitless searching, the graphics card performance reviews are also probably tied to the actual game review embargo date. Which is November 9, at 8am EST. Source.

This means that we should expect to wait another 11 days to hear about PC performance for Fallout 4. I will update as soon as PC performance is revealed. Regardless, its good to know we can expect the reviews to come ..........only one day before the game is released.

I'm sure it won't be nearly as bad as The Witcher 3. Bethesda games have always been very GPU-light.

So the 4350 isn't going to cut it? I bought it back in may this year to replace the Athlon x2 240 (I had whizzing at a healthy 3.9ghz) but went for the 4 core vs 8 because the 4 was $100 cheaper. My system gets a nice 4.6ghz out of the 4350 with gskill sniper 1600, pretty sure it's the low voltage series too, which gave me more headroom without sacrificing stability.

If I have to put $200 out for a new country and $300 out for a new gpu, I'll wait and pickup a nice gigabyte or msi laptop for gaming for another $500 and wait for the AM3+ mobos to drop in price again.

I mean, I figure an r9 380 4gb (asus strix series probably) should do the trick.

I would say bump up either the cpu or the gpu both arent needed but a 4 thread cpu is i think going to be a touch slow this is the unoptomized game kings here fallout 4 will be rough around the edges so a powerful gpu to cover the work load or a cpu that can handle the little extra the gpu isnt processing fast enough would make the game more enjoyable not to say it wont work i am sure it will the creation engine is top for bethesda but look at what other companies are doing the engine is very good i couldnt make one that good if i knew how. So just get alittle more headroom one the requirements with one component the ram and ssd should help alot too

as for customization the game has gone alittle minecraft.. no mining but all the scrap in the world breaks down in to parts for building guns and furnature as well as buildingvhouses
