No problems at all. And nf-f12 are so quiet I just run it at full speed(I do a push/pull config). Haven't been able to get over 45c in any game yet.

Why you destroy such elegant look with Noctua fans, they are for different color scheme.
Nice fan for Hybrid is Noiseblocker Blacksilent Pro 1400 or 1500RPM in push-pull. Noiseblocker Multiframe, CORSIR SP120 White LED, Enermax Twister Pressure, ...EKWB Vardard F3/F4-black
They will look elegant and fit with nice Hybrid tybes and shroud.
And all of them are excellent fans. Noctua is good fan, good product in good package, premium but silence, motor, noise on some speed is not even among first 5-7 fans. Everything is on place except motor and everything with different principle than Gentle Typhoon will never give same performance, they will never be so good balanced as GT. OK for radiator there are many good fans, CORSAIR, EKWB Vardard, etc...I think even now Vardard are best performance option for radiators.

I dont really show off my computer or anything so looks are not that important to me. I mean I keep the inside clean and cables all managed nice and everything but if everything is color coordinated or whatever doesn't bother me much. And the nf-f12 has a good reputation so when I was looking for replacement fans I went with them.

I don't have any experience with ekwb, enermax, noiseblocker etc. Availability is an issue in UK. Own noctua and quite pleased with it. To be honest any brand will do. My main goal is to plug the fan directly to the AIO thus keeping the look clean. It will run at 100% always thus I prioritized fan with low Rpm and decibels.

so they were both awarded BEST, with evga being the cheaper option. Dang those are two nice cards thumb.gif

Dear Cravinmild and other members,

I've been busy trying to get rid of the "flat-out" fan speed on my Graphics card and have not been paying much attention to the forum....
When you mention "The mod", what do you mean by that? I've searched through this thread and cannot find anything about it.
If you mean removing the Y connection that the EVGA Hybrid kit uses and connecting the pump/cooler fan to the MB, I have already tried that out and they work if you adjust the voltage to maximum on that MB fan outlet (the EVGA Hybrid kit comes and uses only two wires), so no fan or pump adjustment is required as they must run at full speed.

What surprises me the most is that since I wired everything according to manufacturers instructions (EVGA), with the "Y" connection, the GPU original fan is at full blast (100%) and what is more, now that I have removed the Y and reconnected the GPU fan by itself in its connector, IT STILL RUNS FLAT OUT! Don't ask me why this is happening, but it is a fact. I wonder what could have changed in the GPU configuration to behave that way. I don't know if a new BIOS (scary..) could sort out this, but if not, another fan wire will come out from my GT 980 Ti, just to feed the original fan, because (one) I can't see the fan lasting long running at full speed and (2) and as important, I can't stand the noise that fan is producing; my tower case is a mere 1.5 feet from my head and I already suffer from tinnitus...mad.gif

Apart from that, the machine seems to be running smoothly and performance wise is very good; now with the EVGA Hybrid cooler kit, the GPU is not rising over 30-35ºC with maximum demand; if not take a look at the 3D benchmark I got this morning....

Best regards and welcome any ideas about the GT 980 Ti fan @ 100% rpm 100% of the time...

MSI have 50MHz higher clock and it's little faster out of box, on same clock Hybrid is better in performance and temperature.
This new EVGA shroud is excellent, I would install that and on reference card. Than on side you have sign of company and probably fit perfectly with backplate.
With these new mask card is completely different, look like some ultra expensive professional NVIDIA card, Tesla or Quadro.

For EVGA Hybrid fans best solution is buying two same fans with good airflow, black, elegant with max speed 1500RPM.
On that speed good fans not produce noise at all and you will know that card will not overheat and no need to change constantly fan speed.
CORSAIR SP120 LED are 1440-1650RPM and they are not noisy.

Thank you Vlada011,

I have added myself to the new shroud want list...rolleyes.gif Let's see if I'm one of the lucky ones.

And about the fan on the card running at 100% all the time I haven't the faintest idea why this is happening, because as I mentioned before, I have tried (short test) running without the pump or cooler fan connected and the graphics card still runs at top speed since I did the mod; that is why I'm thinking about a bios flash, but too scared to try..

Best regards,

Do you have the fan speed control turned off? Its dead silent for me spinning at a default of 22%
