I'd say about 70% of games work good in SLI. Still beats having just one card in most situations since even the best card can't compete with newish SLI systems. Lately I've actually seen less consistent SLI support, Doom, Rise of Tomb Raider, MKX, Evil Within.... all launched with no SLI support. Only Rise has real SLI support now (finally after the last patch).

Hahaha. Glad you caught that.

It's been a long time since I updated my sig. I realized that's what you were most likely going on.

I really don't get the hate with TN though... I have a MSI Dominator GT60 that has an IPS screen and yeah... colours are great.... IPS glow kills it for me though. I've never seen a uniform IPS screen. Big deal breaker for me. I used to say input lag as well, however in this day and age IPS are pretty decent in that regard. I don't ever view my monitor from different angles and I'm pretty good with colour calibration so I go for TN because of the speed and panel uniformity.

I don't think either panel tech is superior. They both have major drawbacks. This why I don't understand certain people with IPS superiority complexes (Not inferring anything there). It doesn't make sense to me.

I really like my 28" Acer 4k Gsync with TN 2ms panel, people complain about the color but if they actually calibrate the color it looks incredible!!

TN no matter how fast kills it for me with the washed out colors and lack of vibrancy. You just need to find the proper IPS gaming display. Yes its a lottery of sorts but its worth it when you get the right one. I hit the JackPot with my X34. Just the slightest bleed in the bottom left corner that's only apparent in a complete black screen. The rest of the panel is perfect. Mine has a build date of May 2016. I think Acer has gotten the QC in order now on these displays. Plus the UltraWide's use a LG panel which has far less issue's then the 27" AUO panels used in the other high refresh IPS displays.

Most games today support Sli and run flawless with it. For me I much rather have way too much power then get stuck with too little. That's just not possible with any single gpu unless you're playing 1080p 120hz or 1440p 60hz.
eventually being that key word there. I got my second 980 for the same reason, I like my games to be beautiful and I won't compromise my fps to do so.

I do find that most of the games I play support sli (since I'm a AAA whor), problem is it just doesn't feel quite as good to me. Even games like bf4 and gtaV have just a few more hiccups than with single card for me. It could be a multitude of things or in my setup. I'm using slightly different 980s, one has Samsung vram, one hynix, I'm sure that isn't recommended. Overall it's been OK but I just miss that flawless single card performance and I'm not about to go switching 980s to find out haha

Btw I'm stuck in 2002 using 1080p 144hz TN panel. I've used a 1440p 120hz and can't justify the price yet, although they're getting close. I'd never take 1440p at 40fps over 1080p at 144hz... that's just crazy talk in my mind

I just upgraded from 2002 last week to 1440p 144hz. It's pretty sweet I must say. $850 though (CDN).

This turned into an e-peen battle fast. I prefer the IQ upgrade of 4K to the faster refresh rate. However, I know I'm in the minority there smile.gif.
