I've got an asus rampage iv be (x79) with 4930k. If I overclock my cpu at all, the initial voltage to the cpu before post is more than 1.6v (monitored through ROG Connect on a laptop). I have go to into Digi+ and manually set it to initial boot voltage vcore to 1.1/1.2V (from Auto) otherwise the board will hit my CPU with 1.6V every time i reboot/power cycle.

Wow that will defiantly not help your cpu lifespan! This is why ASUS as a company is garbage has been for quite a few years now and it seems to get only worse, last board i got was a RIVE 4? the first 2011 socket, when that board fired my cpu that was enough never again will i do asus for my self. I had warning signs about asus with there nasty warranty services. i should have taken heed then but i hope others see this and stop supporting nasty business!

There's not much to say other than it was never able to post. So I don't rally know what caused it. I got my RMA from Intel. Waiting on asus now.

Yeah, been there before, for my issue with the exact same MOBO. sold it, and went with MSI now.
How does a 500'$ motherboard have so many topics about these isseus anyways on the ROG forums..

Just take a look at the Rampage v extreme section@ rog forums. think you will have seen enough for the rest of the day.

hey guys just placed an order on newegg for a noctua d15 to go with my 5820k i will be picking up this week. I was gonna go with the asus deluxe 3.1 since noctua lists it as compatable with the asus board. There are no asrock or gigabyte compatable boards and my local microcenter does not have any msi boards for x99. Any advice?
