It'll do the job for mild overclocking (I'd assume)

Build looks fine all in all.

maybe do an internet search on your bioshock problems, seems odd you have issues just with that title.

graphics drivers up to date?

Agreed - I would hardly go shopping for a new motherboard because one title was showing some odd behavior. Do you have any other titles that you could test with?

There are a number of free benchmarks that you can use to diagnose system stability. Here's a few:

IntelBurnTest - good for a quick-and-dirty stability test. Runs warmer than any non-synthetic task, so watch your temps with this one
Unigine Valley Benchmark - I wouldn't call a system 'stable' on this alone, but it applies a decent load to the graphics card. Watch it cycle through a few times and keep an eye out for any artifacting
3DMark Firestrike - you can get a free version through Steam - stresses both the CPU and GPU

Hope this helps!

Here is a list of the parts
- Intel Core i5-4690K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 3.5GHz
- MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G GeForce GTX 970 4GB
- MSI Z97 PC Mate LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
- G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB RAM
- Western Digital Blue WD10EZEX 1TB Hard drive
- EVGA 600 B 600W Power Supply
- Cooler Master HAF 922

All I really want out of this build is to be able to run strenuous games without lag and/or low fps.
Any recommendations on upgrades or different parts i greatly appreciated, also apologies if I am posting in the wrong area. smile.gif

Looks like a good build only thing you would need to worry about is if you plan to use 2k/4k monitor

Here's some questions that will help us make some recommendations (if there really are any necessary):

1) What cooler are you using on your CPU?
2) What is the resolution and refresh rate on your monitor? This will help determine how much GPU power you need to use it to its full potential.
3) Have you run any benchmarks? What were the results?
4) Any overclocking done already? (Assuming there's thermal overhead for it)
(My conributions to the list)
5) It depends on if you plan to use mods or ultra hi-res texture packs.
6) If you want to make Let's Play vids or stream gameplay. You may need an i7
