I think my 390 is officially dead...mad.gif. I was just rebuilding my loop and when i started my pc everything was fine. But after a while it had been on, suddenly white artifacts all over the screen and the computer dies. It refused to boot later, the motherboard was just showing b2 as error code. My 290 boots up just fine and when i switch over to the 390 again, it actually boots this time, but after a while it died again with the same artifacts over the screen. I don't think my next card is going to be a xfx card again. I had a 290 a while ago, also from xfx, which died a random death too.

Just upgraded to two r9 390x's, I cannot believe the amount of heat they put out. I think I finally got the heat under control, I had to put two 120mm fan on the side of the cards thumb.gif for added cooling. I can run all my games at 3200x1800 maxed out at 60hz. The only game I am having issues with is the witcher 3, its pulling almost 800 watts from the wall on ultra without hairworks.

I have not been on air in about 5 years, feels odd trying to figure out fan curves and such. Does anyone have any fan curve tips for crossfire using afterburner?

R9 390X Crossfire = responsible amount of power.

check 390X bioses and remove voltage offsets from VRM then underclock them to 1050mhz or 1000mhz if its some overclocked edition that will get thermals under control

I think I have the temps under control, how would access the bios for the card?

Are the r9 390x g1 gaming a good model? I read on the internet that it has temperature problems and the fact the voltage is locked makes me wonder how loud it might be. I couldn't find a single review for this model. Do you guys know if it is a ok card or should I just wait even more for the custom 480? tongue.gif

Wait for the custom 480 for sure. The card is going to be so much better in the future. The 490 will also be out soon which should be worth waiting for also if you can.

I don't have the moneis to buy a 490 for sure. I'm thinking on getting the 390x because it is on the price range that I expect the custom 480 arrive here on my country, basically I'm considering the g1 gaming just to not wait or buy a reference 480. Do you still think it is a bad move?
