Going lower than 4.8 the score went lower.

Bottleneck? your memory is really at 1000mhz? seems super low.

@gordesky1 Were we unable to hit 888mv on memory on your card? I dialed in a new BIOS for ya. I really think it could do the 888mv. Only 4 extra millivolts on the core. LMK on white dots, that's voltage coupled with temperature. They are a tight bond.

1270Mhz memory is 325GB/s... 888mv way less than we had you at now at 987mv for some reason? haha wink.gif Been a while man.

By the way the window of opportunity becomes very narrow at 1200mhz and above for potential of "Black Screen". That's Overheat of various components. Which must be matched with precisely the right amount of airflow to overcome. Then we ride out this ultra narrow wave of extremely high speed. haha

I can get 1180/1625 on my MSI 390x without much effort using MSI Afterburner. I typically run at 1150/1625 though. What can your BIOS do for me? thumb.gifthumb.gif

I mostly just been hanging onto that 1204/1000 bios lol

But i just tried that bios you just sent now 1204/1270 and yep did bring the score right up:) And no white dots! And a bit cooler too!

@componentgirl90 I'm proud of ya! You did it! biggrin.gif Now throw it under load with that nano 133W limit haha... Post results and your thoughts, then let's put the pedal to the metal and let it eat.

haha

I just switched it on again and it accelerated to 3794rpm for no reason again (for about 3 seconds), just after finishing loading all windows programs. About a minute later, it then spent about 20 seconds or so in the 3000s for no reason. I have a second PC, albeit an old one. I will try it in that. Also, I will try the other PSU.

Pull the GPU and take a couple hi def pics... I would suspect a physical issue with the card... VRM contact or Core contact issue.

Mainly to look at heatsink to core contact and heatsink to VRM contact... might need to dismantle it if you feel comfortable?

SO I flashed BIOS for 1173/1270. But I don't understand what to do with the core and mem clocks. Do I have to manually adjust them in AB?
I assume I don't have to touch voltage. But I'm getting white boxes in the benchmark. I usually play BF1 and am just using the unigen for testing.

If you adjusted the memory like your not suppose to haha yes white boxes will appear... try reset and see... If reset still white boxes... Post Screenshots and many especially HWInfo v546 GPU DATA at idle and load through all your testing... Remain 1173Mhz - 1270Mhz memory.

I guess we were on separate pages as far as what this BIOS was going to do. You probably thought stock clocks with more voltage to ram up back up. However these BIOS are for max performance and efficiency. To save power, keep the card going for the long haul while generating cooler thermals and surprisingly at times better performance.

I could make a stock smokin hot I mean hot as lava stock bios and see just how hot it can get if you wanna just crank the bars to the max position? I wouldn't recommend it but if that's what you want I can make a bios that would reflect as much. haha wink.gif

To put these clocks in more of a perspective... When DeLimited you are witnessing the full 75,072,000,000 Pixel's every single second at 1173Mhz... You realize? When DeLimited it's pull all those Pixel's every second. When limited by stock only a fraction at the same clocks. You would also witness the full amount of 206,448,000,000 Texel's every single second of gameplay at 1,173Mhz Core clock... Not a fraction of that like stock bios at the same or higher clocks... Make sense? So by then cranking up the ram way out into beyond nuts power consumption territory past 1600Mhz. We are talking about sucking down an extra 200 Watts from memory alone. By saving that power we feed it to the workhorse of the gpu, the Core. Along with power and thermal savings.

Hey all! Been trying to catch on on this bios mod cause i want to run my 390 a little differently. Currently it's at 1150MHz Core and 1700MHz Mem at +56mV. I have swapped out the stock cooler for a H55 and GeLid Extreme.

I'ev gone back 6 pages but not sure where to start. I also have never modded the 390's bios. Where/what should I do?
