When I say hot, I'm holding them to the high standadd of my Vaporx, ie, getting into the 80s or more when pumping in extra voltage.

Like I said my VaporX can keep even 100mv in the mid to low 60s

It's interesting... although my OC ran smooth as can be on the benchmarks (+70mv/1170/1750), i was crashing randomly when i was doing nothing GPU related. Got a few "machine error" blue screens too. I started testing things... and found that things stabilizes if i added aux voltage. So instead of just a flat +70mv to the core, i split that into +50mv core and +25mv aux. Seems to work so far.

XFX 390 DD @ 1100/1700
Using Aida64 sensors for the temps.

Core/VRM1/VRM2
40/40/45~ at idle.
74~/85~/85~ after running Heaven.
+75mV 1145/1700
80~/95~/80~ after running heaven.

~ denotes +/- 1-3 in this case.

seems high, did you setup a fan curve for your GPU?

No I did not, using the Auto setting.
My VRM1 was hitting 120+ when I was running Furmark but didn't go that high in Heaven.

I didn't know Furmark was bad, but I knew 80 - 90+ depending on the card is bad lol.

May I ask what is that widget you use on the right side on the screen to show temps etc?

That's mine. If you're using something else try turning it up to say, 65% and testing again. Don't know if you saw my post but I had to reapply the thermal paste on my card. Not sure how this relates to VRM temp though.
