[Official] AMD R9 390/390X Owners Club - Page 345

def need to join this. i just got a r9 390 for my new rig.

i tried looking up my situation in this thread, but i figured it would be best to ask if this is this worth RMA'ing?
Originally my dvi out was not working & only hdmi. It was probably due to me forgetting to plug in the other 8 pin pci-e plug. plugged it back in but the hdmi out was the only one working.
i waited the next day to see if the dvi output would work & oddly enough it works.
is it worth the time to get a RMA if there was that issue one time? or do you think the card is fine now?
i don't mind not having a working computer while the replacement is on its way. just wanted to get the opinion of others on here.

btw rdr09, do you still play bf4? if so let's play !

Sorry it took so long, but the revisions gave the card new inductors according to ek. If you go here it you can go to AMD, Radeon R9 390, XFX, then you can see that there are two of each type of XFX r9 390 DD's. EK only has blocks compatible with two of the four, and the air coolers they come with all looks the same, so you can't tell the old from the revised ones.

I have tried In-Game, CCC, and Radeon Pro. But the CCC profile setting and RadeonPro setting are not working for me. I can see the RadeonPro overlay, but the frames are uncapped. That is the case for the Witcher 3 and Dying Light.

i think you need to disable igpu if you are not using it. i don't see anything wrong with your FS score.

in bf4, i just set everything at the highest setting (let me see if i can find a screenie) and my fov is about same as yours.

i do not, however, mess with CCC. i uncheck CCC in msconfig under startup programs. i think i read you adjusted tess in there.

CCC combined with other apps such as AB can cause conflict and may affect a game.

here was my BF4 settings at 1080 DX11 and Mantle (never play in DX11 except monitoring fps) . . .

like i said, CCC is at default. Overdrive is disabled.

edit: @agntallen, i haven't played since july. i left the states and moved overseas and my stuff still seating at the port. redface.gif

Thank you! Just you possibly saved me from ordering the wrong card and not being able to watercool it in the near future.

Welp, I've been trying to figure out how to tell which Rev. Amazon is selling with no luck. Looks like I'll be going with Powercolor. They only have ONE card out, NO revisions, confirmed reference PCB with already excellent stock cooling and not bad looks. If you come across any info on it within the next week, would you mind posting it here? I REALLY would like an XFX if I can be sure its the reference board!

PowerColor 390's cards are not reference PCB though but EK does have full waterblock for PowerColor because the board custom design is the same with the PowerColor 290's custom coolers/boards cards.

I have found out that XFX does not void the warranty even if you take off the stock cooler. So you can just buy a 390, check if it has the new or old inductors, and get an RMA if it has the new ones.
Here's where I got all of this information: http://www.overclock.net/t/1561704/official-amd-r9-390-390x-owners-club/3420#post_24517162
You can check the XFX website in their FAQ's if you want to make sure that they do not void your warranty.

Anyone else running the powercolor r9 390? Wondering what sort of increase in clock speed vs power limit people are using as i cant seem to get stable beyond about +6% clock speed and +3 to +4% power limit. I have got up to about +10% clock speed but cant find a similar sweet spot like i did at +4 and +6% clock speed.

This is on stock fans, etc.
