I'm not sure whether Gumbi's CPU limited apply to you but try overclock your CPU more.

Nope it's bang on actually. 1080p 8xAA and max tess should be 60FPS~ depending on your clocks.

Well I've never run at High quality before, always Ultra. I'm assuming with High should be better. Looking at the max FPS, I think my assumption is correct. Even if not, you can tell something wrong happened there by looking at the min FPS. I won't call the score bang on though. Still I'm assuming he is running at stock clock when I said the score is too low, in addition to the setting he is running heaven at.

Edit: Ooops! I looked at wrong screenshots here (samples I have here for comparison). Sorry. So, I retracted back my analysis but the min fps does drop too low than it should be. Basically something is messing with his bench that may also can affect his games experience. So, should check that out.

You need around 4.6GHz on the FX-8 to really make it a valid "gamer" at high FPS.

This is what I have always said, under 4.6ghz you are leaving food on the table, unless you are using mantle

It could be just a stutter. I've seen other with similar drops.

I recommend a custom fan curve for the card, are you taking a look at your vrm temp too? Heaven is good but have you tried Firestrike?

Can someone with a 390X post there firestrike 1.1 scores 4770K/4790K CPU's preferred. GPU overclocked preferred.

Just want to do a comparison with my 290X

I did 14776 graphics score with my 290X @ 1232/1641. 4790k @ 4.9ghz.

Got my MSI R9 390 back today, been wondering if anyone have a good fan curve other than the standard one?
Hey guys! I just got a brand new computer with a R9 390 graphics card. I overclocked my i5 6600k to 4,5GHz and now I tried to give my graphics card a boost. I have a Sapphire R9 390 Nitro, and I can't get it stable with values others got here (however, I didn't read all 360 pages). I tried to go to 1200/1600, but even with +190mV, that didn't work. I got it halfway stable on heaven at 1150 with +190mV, but I got artifacts in grid 2. I'm really new here with overclocking a graphics card. I use trixx 5.0. My results in heaven benchmark and 3dmark are below what I've seen here.

These are already oc results, stock results score below 1000.

Did I miss something essential here or do I just have bad luck with my graphics card?

You cant really just look at everyone else numbers and copy them, every card has its limits, some cards OC good, some average and some bad, its not called the silicon lottery for nothing smile.gif You pretty much have to bump up the numbers little by little, if you then start seeing artifacts or crashes you dial the OC back a bit.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUEMS-B1Siw Jayztwocents did a pretty nice video on overclocking a little while back.
