Woohoo, finally checking in. heres my crossfire 390x setup. msi r9 390x. I NEED WATERBLOCKS! Might jsut go with the alphacool setup. Ive been trollign the internet for months looking for some sort of block and did not want to go with the G10 kraken!unnamed (3).jpg

they are blocked by a huge dc blower i have hooked up to help cool!

And heres one more with the old 850 watt evga power supply that turned out to not be enough for my setup! I now have a corsair Rm1000i. Setup has pulled a peak of 940 watts from the wall on benchmarks only with my 4790k oc'd to 4.8, with ram at 1.65 @ 2400 and both carrds clocked to 1130/1580

What kind of temps are you getting? I really want to crossfire two msi le 390s but I wanna try to avoid water blocks cause I dunno how comfortable I am with installing them. Also I'm currently with a cool master 850 gold rated psu. You think it wouldn't be enough for crossfire?

Well you don't have to worry about a fullcover block seeing as there aren't any apart from the one from Alphacool (Universal GPU Block + Heatsink for vram/vrms)

Fill out the rigbuilder and i might be able to tell you if 850w is enough (link is in my sig for it)

all in all with crossfire if you have good airflow then you won't need watercooling to keep the temps down smile.gif

Why did you mount your PSU intake to the top? This way GPU fan on the bottom card doesn't get enough air because it's stolen by PSU intake.

Yes sir! thumb.gif Just waiting on my new PSU to arrive today. Right now I have an EVGA 850w P2 in my rig so I ordered a Seasonic X 1250w XM2 to make sure I have enough juice. Should have pics & bench scores up by tonight.

That was the first temporary setup. It was only for a few days to test power consumption. It's no longer set up as pictured.

To respond to the other question. I'm going to water cool both. Opened slot reaches 92 under bunch load, 85 on dota 2. Lower card never breaks 75 degrees. I'm going to try the alpha cool naxhos on the top card and report my findings. Vrm temp not a problem so far on air
post #3699 of 11962
Lol God damn auto correct. Bench and nexxos were what I meant. I want a full cover but don't want to have to modify one for a different carday as none exist for 390x yet. With the vrm and core temps and the oversized nexxos black which cools a decent part of the heatsink, I'm comfortable with buying one to hold me over till a full cover is released
post #3700 of 11962
That's if alpha cool doesn't take 3 monthso to reach me. Full coverage may be out by then!
