[Official] AMD R9 390/390X Owners Club - Page 388

I attempted an overclock on my R9 390 8Gb Gaming and am downright disappointed with the results. No matter what I do, I can't get past a 1130 MHz core clock without artifacting occuring on Valley benchmark. Could there be something I'm overlooking or is my card just a dud? I mean, I've read several reviews where they were able to get around 1200 MHz on this card easily.

Up your voltages in increments and power limit to max, maybe more aggro fan profile

Anyone else move up to the 15.11 beta drivers? It fixed my constant crashing in GTA V!

Well, it's a mess right now but it works! Temp setup until the crossfire bridge comes.

What are u using to OC? What voltage increases are you running? How are your temps?

ALMOST being the keyword in your statement. The memory is clocked 250mHz faster on the 390x/390 which gives a faster texture fill rate I think. I have a XFX DD 390 & MSI Gaming OC 290x in my rig & the 390 beats the 290x in all single card benchs.

1200mhz is NEVER easy on any 390, not sure what reviews you're reading. They often push the cards further than what can reasonably be run as a 24/7 overclock without excellent case cooling.

What are your load core/VRM temps, and how much voltage are you putting through the card? You can DEFINITELY do more than 1130 on that card if your temps are OK and you know what you're doing.

I'll have to call you up on that. My 290X gives some pretty nice benches. The only edge the 390 (x)s have is that their memory is overvolted a bit more and can consistently do 1700-1750 mhz.

Just got my R9 390 Saphire trix OC

When I boot my MOTHERBOARD BIOS IMAGE ( gigabyte is coming pixelated crooked or black). No problem playing games but there are some weird noises and artefacts while rendering with Blender in a particular scene. I have done some benchmarking scenes in blender and they are all coming fine. Just my scene is coming a bit weird.

This could be because I am using Beta Drivers? I have installed the drivers in Safe mode device manager and not by proper installation like normal Nvidia Drivers. So catalyst control panel is not working.

Should I try removing the drivers and installing the stable version from normal windows? It is the windows auto installer which creates the problem and doesn't allow installing, that is why I tried installing in Safe Mode.

benchmark is great
