Mine is doing 5100MHz at 1.35V stable... tongue.gif

@fat4l Max reported voltage was actually 1.422 tongue.gif.
Do u run it at this voltage on daily basis ?

Since we already went a bit OT, have you guys messed with your uncore speed on your 4790k's? I remember the Haswell overclocking thread and they were saying that underclocking/undervolting uncore imrproves the core's overclockability, but I have yet to see this in action.

390/X have slightly tighter ram timings so for like RAM clocks should pull ahead. Obviously need to be same GPU frequency for compare and ideally run on same system.

The Stilt did some tighter timings for Hynix AFR & Elpida ICs, when I use those in say 1375MHz strap and set 1375MHz I get same bench as stock ROM with 1500MHz RAM, only way 1500MHz pulls ahead is if I modify that strap to use 1250MHz stock timings.

IMO @Gumbi your 3dMark score should improve with that little mod (not that its a low score by any means thumb.gif).

Haven't looked into it myself. i should do, honestly I was so happy with how easily this overclock came that I left it without doing extensive optimisation.

I'll look into it! but seeing as I have Elpida, I don't know if it'll give me any more performance, it may end up just clocking lower with that mod overall and making no difference in score!

Daaaamn.... I'd say I could do 5ghz at that voltage, but that's too hot on air (unless I delidded it... tongue.gif). Currently have a Dark Rock Pro 2, which is a superb air cooler, and basically near the limits of air cooling for a CPU. 1.31v gets to about 86c when I do x264 encoding for an extended period.

I run my CPU at that voltage constantly, yes (of course it idles at super low volts most of the time smile.gif ). And no, my GPU I only set it to 200mv for bench runs. Cooling is not a problem, but it's inefficnet and wasteful.

I can do 1160/1550 at 63mv no problem which is sooo much cooler (not that 66c/50/50 is hot biggrin.gif of course it was at low ambnients and 100% fans) for marginally less performance.

I will have to wait for the mem mod as well tongue.gif
Now I can do 12050 score with 1200/1500MHz and thats pretty crap...

And ur i5 is very nice smile.gif

Cheers! shame my GPU doesn't OC as well frown.gif .

My cooler cost me £13.50 (2nd hand ebay job) chip was brand new (£135, 2nd one). RB stress mode ends up bit higher for temps due to the 290X kicking out heat, max core temp 78c over 8hrs, room temp 23-24c. X264 same 4.9 / 4.3 profile but as the 290X isn't loaded max temp 74c over 8hrs, same room temp.

Using Stilts timings for me max ram clock is about 1450MHz IIRC, any higher I see artifacts at desktop redface.gif.

Stock 1250MHz I've tested to 1550MHz, not gone higher as been busy with other bits.

You should be ok with stock 1250MHz strap timings in 1500MHz+, Fyzzz uses those on his 290 Hynix BFR from what I recall, Graphics Score 15191.

Guys how do I under clock my GPU?

I have bought Saphire R9 390 Trix for 3D rendering in Blender.

The issue is it is great for games but causes random artefacts while rendering in blender. Sometimes it is great sometimes it causes image artefacts.

It came overclocked as default to 1040 core clock rather than 1000.

What will help to reduce the artefacts: less core clock or less memory clock?

DO I need to reduce memory clock as well if I reduce the core clock and vice versa?

Is it possible these artefacts could be an issue because of less power?

Here is my present config.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
Intel Core i7 950 @ 3.07GHz
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. X58A-UD7 (Socket 1366)
24.0GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz
8192MB ATI AMD Radeon R9 390 Series (Sapphire/PCPartner)
Cooler Master seidon 120v+ cpu cooler.
4 cooler master sickle flow + 2 stock fans
3 Seagate hard disks + asus dvd
PSU is Cooler master Silent Pro 700 W

My UPS (APC BACK UPS RS 600) is not working, gives a bleeping sound when I run render with GPU or run benchmark). So currently cpu is connected directly to wall socket. Will need to buy another UPS.

Any help will be appreciated.

Well I would say that it depends on voltage..I think you are putting low volts into the card tongue.gif
If we had some statistics showing how much volts ppl run we would know more. They are just saying +100mV in AB but what it actually means ? We both know its DPM7+100mV and it can actually be 1.3v, 1.35v etc...
Shame ppl don't want to run EVV application to see what their stock voltage is.
My super expensive Ares 3 is not a great clocker either which, considering there are only 500 of them, is very sad. Asus should put more effort into the card.
My cores need @1100MHz- 1.212v and 1.250v(1.195v and 1.234v max real). I think your card is close to this right ?
But yes, we, especially you, deserve more for all the effort, work u have done and knowledge u have regarding hawaii smile.gif

Hey fat4l and Gumbi, what Cinebench scores do you get with your CPUs? Also, what memory are you using? I'm kinda curious now, maybe I will mess with my CPU a bit more later today...

Also, gupsterg, nice one. Not impressive speed wise but man, you could run that puppy in an mITX case with a small cooler and get wicked good performance. Nice stuff!

991 - 997. My RAM is very good. Samsung Wonder RAM that I recently bought off a friend. Clocked at 2200mhz at 1.6v with timings of 9-10-12-20.
