If you're referring to the bracket on the PCI-E slot that hold the GPU, the bracket is broken on that PCI-E slot. I've moved my GPU down to the middle x16 PCI-E slot and the bend is gone.

Now 390 vs 290X is all about cost. I would not spend more then $50 to get a New 390 over 290X. Also Factor in how much WB cost for 390.

Doing some simple researching, the 390 is actually cheaper than the 290x brand new (for the moment). 390 for $289 or 290x for $305. I can get some used 290x's for about $225 (but this buying off EBAY too). I would be selling the 7950's to purchase the GPU block + rad + fittings though to justify the costs.

I do get what you are saying about the "if it finally uses it, its probably too slow by then"

I have a couple weeks to look regardless. I am though wanting to dump these 7950's. They are starting to age. I will keep an eye out for some good priced 290x's when it comes down time to buy. If I happen to find some new 290x's for the same price, I will be getting a 290x.

If yo buy new get 390. I would only get 290X if you can buy it with a Block ~ same price as new 290X or 390.

Yup just get a 390 if 290X is so expensive.

Games will start pushing that 4GB soon I reckon, as some games already are, especially at 1440p.
It won't hurt to have more than that 4GB. Kinda feel sorry for the poor people who own a 970 lol

Thanks. I'll just keep focused on the 390 then, unless I happen to get lucky on a 290x. The Powercolor PCS+ for $289.99 with $20 rebate. $269.99 isn't bad for one of the better cooled 390's until the 7950's sell.

Yeah I have always owned Sapphire cards, they have always been top notch. Including the 5 7950's in a miner. Man those things took some SERIOUS abuse. I am still using 2 of them today they were so good at one time lol

But its time to move on from them...

Yes, I have that installed already but it's not that long. This AIO was made for the 290x so I don't know if the 290x was shorter but the bracket doesn't much area on my 390x.

That's not what I meant,.

I mean the long black bracket on the side of the grafics card. Not the heatsink on top.

This part is what i mean (highlighted in red):
