Yeah I have always owned Sapphire cards, they have always been top notch. Including the 5 7950's in a miner. Man those things took some SERIOUS abuse. I am still using 2 of them today they were so good at one time lol

But its time to move on from them...
If you want watercool both core & VRMs, then you'll only have two choices; Powercolor PCS+ 390 or ASUS DCU2 390 (firstly make sure waterblock is available for purchase). Also MSI 390 once EK released the block.

And the ASUS card only has the "Hybrid" block for it which looks like a full cover block but has only a heatsink on the VRM.
Alphacool GPX series.

I have one, works fine after I changed the thermal pads for VRM and glued a GT AP-15 fan there on top of it.
75C max now at +175mV.

This is why I am looking at the Powercolor PCS+. The Alphacool NexXxoS GPX R9 290/290x M07 fits both revisions of the PCS+ according to the compatibility chart. And it is the cheapest!

I was referring to EK waterblock because it cool both core & vrms. For 390/390X, only Powercolor PCS+ & ASUS DCU2 have compatible waterblock from EK (EK SE & EK DCU2 block respectively). At least, so far both still compatible as far as I know. The new XFX card with new inductors no longer compatible with EK waterblock.

Anyone knows where might be those VRM 1 and VRM 2 sensors located on Sapphire 390X Nitro?
If anyone is interested I recently decided to pull the trigger and put a full Waterblock on my xfx 390 the only issue as most of you know is the new inductor with it being slightly bigger the block might need some modification.

That being said I came across a forum talking about why EK removed the Waterblock from their website as being compatible with our cards and they had some more insight as to why. Basically if you look at the pcb you can immediately see if the card is compatible by looking at the inductor. The old inductor that is compatible with most blocks has a "C" on it the new inductor has a "Z" on the top and mine happened to be the old inductor but had to remove all current heatsinks and the backplate in order for the block to fit.

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/24126/ex-blc-1714/EK_MSI_Gigabyte_Radeon_R9-290X_VGA_Liquid_Cooling_Block_Rev_20_-_Acetal_EK-FC_R9-290X_-_Acetal_Rev20.html?tl=c599s2078b133

I ordered that block and it fit perfectly and comes with plenty of thermal pads for everything you need. Hopefully this helps some of you wanting to put a full block on your card and avoid buying an expensive paperweight.

Welp, for those who have paid attention to my posts lately, I believe I've solved my GPU overclock issues.

I went ahead and returned the Antec HPG-850 PSU and swapped it out for an AX860. Everything is working flawlessly. i was able to push the card as far as 1220/1750 on air for benching, resulting in a ~15200 GPU score. I dropped the clocks down to 1170/1750 w/ +111mv on the core and I'm Witcher 3 stable biggrin.gif. Pulling 55-60fps minimum in 1440p, ultra settings w/ hairworks disabled. Temps max out at 80C in gaming. I was having some blue screen issues but determined my DRAM OC to be a wee bit too high, so once I fixed that it was smooth sailing.

Needless to say, I'm quite satisfied thumb.gifbiggrin.gif

The only disappointing thing I've encountered was that I updated my parts list on PCPartPicker.com to include all current hardware and nearly pooped my pants at the overall cost of the build......

EDIT: I have been paying attention to TRIXX's hardware monitor, and it's showing my VDDC Power in / Power out peaking at at 361w/310w 0_o
